Revolver - what are you cruising water temps ? If they are anything above 85C on a 20C day then your IC is restricting the flow to the radiator and you will need to lift it a couple of inches .

Brettus's comment makes sense and I know you will be tracking the car so I am certain you will take care to get it right - no matter how long it takes.

My following this thread is from more than just passing interest.......so like others wishing you well on this.
It raised a chuckle with me too.

Cheers Alan. I'll get there eventually...appreciate the support.

I haven't fitted additional gauges yet and to be honest will be ditching water temp in favour of oil pressure, oil temp and boost.

And I'm not lifting anything!!! I'll make the existing set-up work...

hey - don't shoot the messenger .
lifting the IC is way cheaper than any other mod (that actually works) - just saying

If you think that's shooting I suggest you steer clear of gun fights.

Frankly, after the wait and the hassle that goes along with this kind of mod, I'm a little averse to chopping and changing things atm, hence my reaction.

You may be right but I'll enjoy the car for a while and see how it goes track-wise before I start looking for reasons to interfere with the Hymee masterplan.

the inter-cooler looks fairly high to start with. I'm guessing it is a 300x500 core and looks like it is level with the top of the crash bar. it should have a couple of inches between it and the under-tray?

Yeah - if it has at least 3" clearance on the undertray it should be fine . Maybe it was the angle of the pic but I could have sworn it was almost touching the undertay ...

A true new era has just return ... nice to see u Kall.

I am so non rotary now. The car is gathering dust since last Nationals. I should put some road tyre in the car and start driving it but I go pedal power nowadays.

Nice to see my thread being used for an old hands' catch up.

Due to a change in my personal circumstances, I need more economical and practical transport. Accordingly, I am having the S/C kit removed and both the kit and the car will be for sale separately. Look for an ad in the for sale sections or PM me direct if you're interested (no tyre kickers please).

Many thanks to all for the info and camaraderie over the years. It's been (mainly) fun and I've formed some life long friendships that began with idle car chatter in here.

Will be sorry to see the 8 go but it's time to move on.
