My Local RX-8 ROTARY ENGINE Repairer RENESIS for South Australia/NT.

This thread is only for Australian RX-8 owners who live in the State of South Australia, Adelaide.

RX-8 Owners wanting to know 'where and who' to see exactly (who to contact, to visit, tow their RX-8 to) in the event they believe their RX-8 needs major repairs....like a new engine.

Now yes, I know the option is to take car to your nearest Mazda Dealer, however for those who no longer have any Mazda New Car Warranty (of 3 years) the cost of repairs at a Mazda Dealership can be prohibitive and to some cases outrageously expensive.

So, where and who do we go to next...??

This is where I would like any RX-8 Club.com Members (Australian Members) who have actually experienced 'a' particular Rotary Engine re-builder or
re-manufacturer who they have used and would recommend for the good people of South Australia.

We don't want to see second hand hear say, only first hand knowledge and first hand experiences.

So please tell us your experience with your RX-8 Rotary Engine re-builder-repairer for our Adelaide RX-8, SA members...

How long was your car off the road for....
Did they supply you a loaner vehicle...
Was there any extras 'incidental parts' that required renewing...like a clutch kit and how much $$'s.
What Warranty period did this RE repairer give you...??
How does your RX-8 perform now...??
Was it all worth it..are you happy...??
What did it cost you....all up in the end...??
Would you recommend this repair shop again....??

So please keep it honest and 'help' others in need of a 'new heart' for their Aussie RX-8.

Please leave your RE repairer's contact details below and a postal code..

BTW: Yes there are some extremely good Rotary Engine supply forum Vendors here, BUT, almost all are State Side and for changeover Engine Repair costs are prohibitive (mainly Shipping and Aussie Customs), however, IF you believe the cost is one that is acceptable to you, then I have no hesitation in recommending our US vendors like....
Paul at Mazmart, for his re-mans or used/new Mazda Parts.
Or Jason Baggie at Montgomery Mazda for all your new Mazda Parts.

WAY cheaper than any Australian Mazda Dealer at the moment because of Aussie currency exchange rates.

Plus if you are aware of your Adelaide Rotary Engine repairer may wanting to become a local Forum Sponsor/Advertiser, or Forum Vendor supplier here then please let us know.

NT there is not much option however Dave Cheetham at Hi Tech tuning is a rotary nut and does good, LIGHT work. He is not doing rebuilds anymore however minor repairs and servicing is still on the cards not to mention aftermarket computer installation and tuning.

Hi Rx8 Owners,

My name is Greg Mildren, formally the Owner of Mildren Automotive in Thebarton SA. I closed the public workshop in 2012. The workshop formally was designed to be a one-stop-shop for all things Rotary specialising providing high quality, innovative and long lasting products and services.

To use an old adage - "nothing stays the same forever". The world around us constantly changes and over time, the world and circumstances often mean a person must also change.

But one thing about me never changed - my passion and enthusiasm to continue to be an expert with Mazda Rotary.

In 2013, after closing the Thebarton workshop, I re-structured and setup a new private workshop, where I could flexibly study and work in peace.

TODAY
I continue many of the Mazda Rotary activities I always enjoyed. Engine building, providing advice, and specialist Rotary parts for many SA Mazda Dealerships, local mechanical workshops and of course private Mazda Rotary Owners.

For references regarding my work, you can contact;
John Jeffries - Paradise Motors Mazda, Paradise
Marque LeMaistre - Viva Automotive, Richmond

AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants continue to be an important integral part of the services and products I supply - Amsoil make the best RX8 oil I know. Check it out "Amsoil XLF1G".

I still own Rotaflo Exhaust products, the manufacturer of high end high quality mufflers and resonators, make products for Mazda Rx8 as well as every other Mazda Rotary vehicle including aviation.

Many other more miscellaneous products and services are available - gearbox rebuilding, diff rebuilding, engine machining & porting, engine packages, conversion packages, long engine preparations. Almost everything up to point of actually working on your car.
I leave the "working on your car" bit to other workshops that are just as qualified as I am.

For further information you can contact me through my website or face book page.

All the best Rx8-ers.

Not Rx8, but an early model 13BT long engine built and prepared by Greg Mildren to install into Mazda Rx4 by its owner.
