Locknuts for those lovely 18" Alloys

G'day all. Just wondering if any of you have some good suggestions on locknuts for our alloys. I'm kind of suprised that Mazda doesn't provide them with the car. What are the best third party alternatives and where can you get them ?

Best always to keep the car somewhere safe.

On my last car I had a set of fancy pattern dood-dahs that cost, from memory, about $80. Somewhere along the way the socket for the set got lost. In a panic, I went to my mechanic who showed me how the things could be removed in less than 30secs/wheel using a hammer, another socket and electric socket drive.

If someone really wants those wheels, they will get them. If you want to stop them … perhaps, maybe … an alarm system with movement detector…

Agreed Timbo. I guess that's why I was wondering if there was anything decent out there these days that actually works...

Try these at: http://www.uniqueautosports.com/wheels_and_tyres.htm

You will have to change one of the wheel nuts on each wheel (plain nut with no dome cap) but don't worry, the different wheel nut will be covered up by the new lock nut.

It comes with two keys and a serial number and they are made in Switzerland.

Hi guys, I'm fr Singapore and I think I have what u guys r looking for. I ordered it myself for my 8 which I will be taking this week after a 5 month long wait. Its an original fr MAZDA and it costs me about S$75, which is around A$55 after discount. It comes in a set of 4 , a lock for each wheel and a "key" to do the locking n unlocking. Hope this is what u guys r looking 4. Cheers!

Thanks for the input guys. I'll check both alternatives out.
Cheers!
