Koni shocks are the same shock that sells by the person saying "No bull" ? :confused: (i.e. does Pedder sells Konis?)
Are they full adjustable is my question.

Taka the Koni's are only Damper/rebound adjustible. The fronts can be adjusten in this way from the tops of the strut towers but the rears can only be adjusted when removed from the car.

The koni's give a very good ride, increased/better handling and also do not send anywhere near the crash through the suspension on rough surfaces as the stock shocks. If you do not wish the hassle of setting up coilovers the Koni's are a good option.

someone organise a sydney rx8 cruise then! we need to show that we're more fun than the melbournians... lol

While Pedders DO sell Koni's, I'm pretty sure they're not the same as Pedder's own brand (which I think are made by Monroe). :confused:

While I don't wish to comment on Pedders products, the shocks that they sell as thier own brand are not Koni.

Who honestly needs ALL that Adjustability

You get plenty adjustment with Koni's ( The best shockies in the world ;would formula 1 use anything else ?) ;)

RX8 suspension is basically a non-adjustable coil-over anyway,Combined with Koni , There's the ultimate affordable package :D :D

To be honest I doubt any F1 or Indy cars use Koni shocks anymore, but I could be wrong.
As for Coil overs, I think you are right, 98% of buyers of coilovers do it out of fashion rather than function, also I doubt insurance companies like coil overs..?

Considering the MazdaSpeed in Japan is $1325 plus shipping.

Koni is a bit steep (oh I mean good :)) in their price.

I personally think there is no point to put a different non adjustable shock into the car unless: You are going to autosalon and wants to look good after you lowered your car.
There is handling advantage, but I don't think there will be much use on normal road, unless you street race your car. ;)

Yes you don't need adjustable one for street racing since you are in a different road environment for the whole course. No point :rolleyes:

But if you track your car and sensiblity not to drive hard on the street :rolleyes: (ie that is most of us here)! Then I think non - adj is not enough. There is simply no flexibility in controlling the damper (especially the rear damper) on the specific track. You are given as it is from the factory. Well it is not satisfying for me. If you are a real club racer, you can tell your tyre and suspension limit and it will be nice to change the damper setting to suit for driving style.

Say it is $1300, after installation maybe $1400. The Tein Superstreet with 16 adj damper level is only $2500 installed....

You have all the flexibility for just a touch more... come on :) I have to stress if you never track your car (like Ciao I think ;))... why not. I think it is a good looking spring for you ;).

They have a 4-way adjustable shock (2812) that was developed on the Indy Racing League cars three years and yes, Koni works exclsuively with several F1 teams with custom shocks. You'd be amazed how small, light, and delicate they are for the application (I've had one in my hands at Koni NA), mainly because F1 vehicles have very little suspension travel, the shocks are all lever arm actuated, and everything has to be as small and light as can be to get the job done for one race.

Very funny Dave,

Nowadays the adjustable damper is very easy to adjust and bagging user to play with it.

Someone like Tein and Cusco made on board electronic damper controller (which is just an electric arm over the adjuster :)). This thing is designed for trackies who are too lazy to leave their bucket seats.

Smart people spend time efficiently...

I do think quick... so I can spend time to do other useless things ;) Like talking about suspensions LOL :D

Taka, stop pontificating, please!, the konis ARE adjustable, and if you can get a set of shocks installed for AUD$100, you must know some quality mechanics.

Case,,, may be it is not $100 for installation, but I don't expect my mechanic will charge me more than 4 hours for 4 suspension, so I expect much less than $250 to set up all 4. You see, I have a whip in my hand while he is working on my car .... Oh well I shut up now.

Before I put cat gut to my lips. Is there any perimeter from Koni you can gather. Like the Spring rate and damper force, and the height you can adjust too.....?!

The Koni's are not height adjustable just damper adjustible.

I've always been a fan of Konis, having fitted them to previous vehicles where they've made a real, positive difference....but at those prices :eek:
