ISOFIX anyone
*cough *cough...
I am in a market to get a baby seat. Yes I need a second one :smoker: lil Taka should deserve a better seat. Has anyone seen an ISOFIX seat selling in Australia - or anyone used one. Maybe this question extends to the US people as well. Any help welcome. I know people in UK has ISOFIX since 5th gear has just aired one in their crashes this week ;) Thanks in advance. |
What exactly are you saying here, taka?? Are you suggesting that the cooler nights have :yumyum: :aroused: :69: :ky: :smileysex , with the inevitable consequences. If so, you can't just announce it in an indirect way  :eyetwitch

I love a good unsubstantiated rumour. :mdrmed:
Congrats Taka - when's the new baby due? :) |
Congratulations Taka.... :) :) :) :)
What's wrong with the Australian child seat fittings?? They seem pretty easy to access in the 8 - not needed to do this with Miss 6... |
For those wanting to know what ISOFIX is
http://www.askaprice.com/torque-arti...ained&item=559 Taka, I am not sure if the RX8 can take the ISOFIX mounts due to the sloping nature of the rear seats. I know I had issues with certain seats for my kids......I would check this first. Cheers |
Hey Taka tell them the rough due date both Mia and yourself told Danielle. Danielle is still wondering how you are going to work that one out so as you can get away! :scratchhe :scratchhe :wallbash:

Just think, we could wet the baby's head with genuine Mazda rotary oil. :cwm27: |
taka, FFS, you mean it's due when the Nats are on??!! Talk about piss poor planning! (or it shows just how cunning women are :cwm27: ) There'll be a new Stig, if you don't watch out....but then, maybe by that time you'll have traded in the 8 on....that Odyssey you mentioned ;)
CONGRATULATIONS by the way :ylsuper: |
Woohoo someones been busy? :P

I'm picturing a lowered Odyssey with a gigantic rear wing and every Mugen accessory known to man on it furiously lapping Wakefield with white-hot brake rotors. :rollingla :rollingla :rollingla |
That's exactly the picture I had, too ;)
|
WOW this is weird.
This came to me in my dream..complete with the TAKA plates...i swear! http://thesmszone.com/filez/taka.jpg /trippin |

I love Google Images. :)
Heh heh, remember these Odysseys from the 70's/80's - great fun. My sister's boyfirend had one when I was about 10-11. We used to drive it out at Kurnell when there were still massive sandhills. |

Stop looking - I've found it:
Bitchin'! More at http://www.odyclub.com/index.htm if you can handle the excitement. |
Thanks guys ;)
It is due Nov 29. Plenty of time, but I am not sure Danielle could drive an 8 month preg lady up to Goulburn. Or we can spread the drive and do it in 2 days. I will try to bring lil Taka up too. Big car is no help. Plenty of space from the Mazda 3. Other people have managed and so should we. An SUV is very uneconomical. No one know anything about ISOFIX being avail in Australia? |
Taka...Congrats mate. Why you wanna go with something so difficult to find? That aside, is isofix even legal here ? http://www.redbook.goauto.com.au/mel...C?OpenDocument

Do you really think the current set up is safe? It is so confusing and hard to get it right! Europe has it for many many years and all manufacturers have ISOFIX. Even my Mazda 3 has ISOFIX! ISOFIX is proven to even out the forces (deceleration forces especially) The adoption of child restraints with European ISOfix fixed lower anchorage points – currently prohibited under Australian Design Rules – is also recommended. ISOfix is being reviewed under child safety seat legislation reform by Standards Australia that is due next year, along with the US-preferred adjustable belt strap around the base and vehicle anchorage point set-up known as LATCH system. |
I wouldn't hold your breath Taka.
If my experience with SA is anything to go by, both kids will have graduated from Uni before it gets released on the local market. |
Yep I agree, its a better system, but if you use it and get into an accident, if ANYTHING happens you are screwed.
I would give MUARC, RACV, NRMA, VICRoads, etc a call to see if its legal here yet. Cheers Andrew |
Haha LOL
Then I may upgrade it to one of these http://www.recaro-nao.com/produkte/p...g_sport_gr.jpg But I really hate the idea that Alyssa is getting Recaro before me :D: |
LMAO Taka...That is the funniest thing I have seen in a while.
|
Make sure you fit a dummy wheel and shifter so she can start practicing. :mdrmed:
|
Congrats Taka.
