howdy rotorheads... "attn moderators"

Can the moderators please let me know if it is ok for me to post up info on a coming track day that we have at Wakefield Park ??? Would love to invite you guys to come down and have some fun in your rotors

Cheers,
Marty

Not that I'll be able to attend, but....who are you associated with?

auzoom 02-28-2006 12:22 AM

Not a moderator but so long as its not a for profit thing then I see no issue, ie you aren't the track advertising your services.

We have been organising one on here for Winton since January.

Peddler PM'ed me. He is a Mod on another (non RX-8) forum, so he knows his way around forum etiquette. To the best of my knowledge, he isn't associated with Wakefield in any official capacity.

I don't see a problem either. Maybe Hymee can chip in and give the official stamp of approval.

timbo 02-28-2006 12:58 AM

Others have done it (eg, RENEW and REACT) so it shouldn't be a problem...and we thank Peddler for asking;)

Hymee 02-28-2006 01:36 AM

OK by me.

Cheers,
Hymee.

There are 3 spots available out of a 40 car field for the Sat 8th April day at Wakefield.

Their last day at Wakefield until September. Some trophies.....$140 per driver.

Peddler 02-28-2006 01:55 AM

hey guys, thanks for the rap... yes i can confirm 100% that Autosports isnt a part of Wakefield at all. We simply are a bunch of fellas that got together becuase there was not much action available for amature drivers who want to get there cars on the track

To give you a little more history, we initially didnt have intentions of doing the amount of track days that we do, but given the interest that we generate simply becuase we dont charge $million to do a fully timed track day, we seem to book events out pretty quickly.

Down the track we plan on gaining full CAMS affiliation and also will be operating as a registered Club with all funds getting directed back into member benefits and discounts.

Not taking anything away from this fine site, Autosports in our minds is sorta developing into a central point for all other smaller groups who want to attend either a track day or skid-pan day.

It's all about fun and cost effectiveness guys and we would love to see some more rotors along to the next wakefield event

Again, thanks for the rap and thanks mods for allowing me to let the rotor crew know about our track days... "cheers"

Guys/Girls, (esp those in Syd/Cba)....just got an email from Peddler. The number of drivers for the Wakefield day on the 8th April has been increased to 50, it seems.

They have 9 positions available. The track is booked solely for Autosports members. Many are going to stay at the track on the Fri and Sat nights so you can make a good weekend out of it.

Hit the link I posted earlier and register to join the forum. They need all the Rotorheads they can get!!

Cheers,

Gomez.

PS......good practice for the Nats in October.....
