Congratulations dude, we all know the feeling. Who says you can't buy sexual satisfaction, I wish I was only collecting my 8 this afternoon. :D

Make sure you check out the threads titled: "What I think of this car - plus newbie's guide to the rest of you b*stards" by BVD and "Ten things that all new RX-8 owners should know from day 1" by Taka. They are both good reads. :D :)

Someone help ! How the hell do you insert a link to a different thread? I don't mind taking the abuse as long as I can figure out how to LIVE IN THE NOW ! :o :o :o

Revolver 07-28-2005 01:38 AM

Alternatively, how about just answering here so others can pick up some computer tips.

Would also love to know how to get quotes from multiple people into the one post (Ezzy's a master at it!).

Sorry if this boring for the rest of you (and apologies to Simon for semi-hijacking his intro thread :o ).

Congratulations and welcome.

You will find that there are so many resources and knowlegable people on this site. Enjoy reading and driving will never be the same again.

what i do is.... right click the "quote" button of the thingy you want, and chose "open link in new window", do that from as many user replies as want, and then "copy" and "paste" them into one... then the rest is easy :D
i know there must be an easier way..... :o

timbo 07-28-2005 02:56 AM

Hi Simon....great car isn't it...and a decent bunch here, too

And now (because if I don't Revolver will chide me) it is my pleasant duty to point out that we're having a National meeting in October (21-23) centred on Goulburn (NSW)...a great opportunity to learn more about your car, how to drive it ....and the (other) nutters here who appreciate it :D

Congrats! You have great taste in colour. I've only had mine 8 for a month and love it. Hopefully we'll meet at the Nats.

Really just using your quote for my new cybergymnastic attempt Timbo but you're right - must put the word in the streets - remember, as Jake and Elwood would say - "we're on a mission from God!"

Now, how much for the leetle girl?? Hahahahaha!!!! :D

A bunch of us were up that way from Sydney just a month or so ago Simon - we all ended up parking at the Skillion at Terrigal. Can't remember the final number now but it was over 20 cars from memory. There's quite a few central coasters active on the forum. Hopefully they'll make themselves known to you so you can meet and compare notes (if you don't already know them of course! :) ).

Okay, now I'm just showing off (what a great new forum toy - thanks again Ezzy!! ;) ) And Timbo - sorry to blatantly use your demented ravings again but, as sophisticates such as Bat1 would know, no colour is faster but some are less 'common' than others! ;)

Revolver 07-28-2005 05:25 AM

Ha! It worked!! :)

<capers around like a grinning loon>

Can I pet the rabbit again George? Can I? Can I? :D :D

azzaboynt 07-28-2005 08:54 AM

Hi Simon, good to have you here. Great car, and great pics :)

If you want to post a link you can just open the relevant thread and then copy and paste the address from the box marked address (usually up near the top of your browser). Like so:

https://www.rx8club.com/australia-new-zealand-forum-37/do-your-headlights-project-2-layers-light-67565/

OR

You can just right click on the thread without opening it, click on Properties and then copy and paste the address.

TO BE FLASH:

To hide the address, and put a description instead, use this format:

[Xurl=https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=67565] Click here to view headlight thread [/Xurl]

But, you MUST remove the two Xs (next to the "url"s) If I hadn't put them in it would come up like this:

Click here to view headlight thread

Cheers Chris.

What I do is enter the first one the regular way and then just cut and paste whichever other bits I want and copy the same format. In the case above it was:

[XQUOTE=EZZY] Your words [X/QUOTE] - without the two Xs, of course.

Now I can add something from Revolver, and perhaps even make a little 'accidental' error with his name.... ;)

What childish fun to be had. :D

Cheers, Chris.

Revolver 07-28-2005 05:35 PM

Thanks for all that Bad Venereal Disease ( ;) :p ) - very helpful. :)

BVD 07-28-2005 06:33 PM

Actually BVD stood for Bloody Volvo Driver

When I signed up here to ask some questions I was still driving my Volvo - and despite the jokes it was a great car. (What's the difference between a porcupine and a Volvo?? With a Volvo the pr*cks are all on the inside.) etc.

It only took a few days to make my mind up, so I soon joined the ranks of the fortunate, and bought an RX8. BMD now I suppose. :)

P.S.

Apologies to Simon for all this off-topic stuff on his thread - but that's rather what happens around here. It's just like a pub really - somebody tries to get a discussion going about nuclear physics, and before you know it the lads are all talking about footie or cricket, or fighting among themselves about who can drink the most, or whatever.... :)

Hymee 07-28-2005 09:12 PM

Welcome sjb266!!

I hope you enjoy our place.

Nice colour too, btw!

Cheers,
Hymee.
