Nemesis8 08-31-2005 12:16 AM

Oil slick and machine gun switches

skc 08-31-2005 12:24 AM

I think they are for the heated seats the get in other countries.

Gomez 08-31-2005 12:26 AM

Are they compfy pads... or do they feel firm?

It is too thick for my liking... I saw this on eBay long time ago - are they different?

i think taka will find those knee pads (commonly used for driftting) more useful than that hey....... :D

Taka, they are super comfy. They are about 1cm high and sponge foam soft. Don't be fooled by the hard plastic grain look of the thing....they are a feather pillow for your elbow!!! ......and they're the perfect height :) .

Oh yes... I found the knees are knocking around during track days. Those would be nice but not essential.

playa78 08-31-2005 03:47 AM

i might consider one if they had one in red to match the interior :D

takahashi 08-31-2005 04:07 AM

hehe what is not red inside your car right now... :D

Hey how is the red leather gear boot going?

rotarenvy 08-31-2005 05:46 AM

a pad on the console sounds good, but the sliding mechanism and button break if you even look at them the wrong way  I'd be worried leaning on it would cause more problems :(

xxup 08-31-2005 05:51 AM

Not much good for me either.. Ours is nearly always open with water bottles etc in the cup holders..

I keep my iPod in the drink bottle holder thingy with a little accessory mount ... house keys tend to drop into the other hole.

... the camelbak just won't fit in those little holes :-(

timbo 08-31-2005 04:03 PM

Hey Kev --- is this your 2005 post? :D

I, too, find that hatch too fragile to contemplate doing anything that might encourage me to put any further weight on it :(

sco 08-31-2005 04:14 PM

Have to agree with xxup... my console cover is rarely closed... in goes my phone, wallet and other accoutrements (as in Daffy Duck's "Slight pause while I adjust my accoutrements").

As a cupholder... well... drinks rarely go in there because 600ml cartons don't fit and water bottles are too high and get in the way of gear changes

P.S. And there I was thinking rapidus octus was on the endangered list and one pops out of the bush for a quick "hello"... nice to see it still thriving. If I rattle the bush I wonder if a Dezus blueus eightus ownerous might jump out too.

You're right. Seat heater buttons... Absolutely stupid location for them too. I don't know how many times I thought to myself, "Gee... My ass sure is getting warm" only to discover that I accidentally hit the switch.

Hi Kev ;). It is a great effort of a comeback. Welcome!

Yes do have no idea what I have in the front console,... I still love a cup of coffee that stays warm after an hour. :)

haha, taka.

yeah, it looks and feels so much better.
didn't you see the pics I uploaded b4?
it's a perfect match with the red gear knob.
now I just need to get the red armrest and handbrake to match it all :D

Revolver 09-01-2005 12:56 AM

The cupholders are bloody useless! Even if they didn't turn the iciest drink warm inside five minutes, they're not adjustable so drinks slosh around and you foul them with your elbow when changing gears.

I'm considering trying to remove the 'cup shaping' and lining the bottom so I can throw stuff in there like mobile, etc without worrying about it cooking to a turn.

At the moment the only thing I use the bin for is my wallet and housekeys.

As for the arm rest padding, I'm with some of the other guys. Just opening it makes me wince, it's so cheap and nasty. There's no way I'm gonna lean on it too.

My vote is we ALL break the slide and make warranty claims (preferably at the same time ;) ) - Mazda might then realise that this part of the car is shit.
