SoCal Tuning & DynoDay with MazdaManiac - Jan. 24th
Hey Guys,
It's time to see if all the mods Santa brought you for Christmas are throwing down any extra horsepower!
I've spoken with Jeff (Mazdamaniac) and we've agreed to host another Dyno / Tuning day for the SoCal people. The BHR Team (CRH, Easy_E1 are also checking their schedules and might be on-site as well) If you guys want to order any BHR stuff, this might be your chance to speak with them directly and get their insight. BHR ignition coils will not be for sale, there's still a wait list on those. If you guys want to buy parts from Ray, he will most likely be on-site doing Installs at a reduced rate!!
Here are the details:
Steve @ SR MotoCars has been gracious enough to lend us his shop for the day. (we've done a dyno day there before and the shop was awesome!)
We are starting at 9:00 since I expect this to be a full day.
Cost:
Dyno includes 3 pulls and a printout: $50
Tuning: $50 to have Jeff do custom tuning on your AP. (this is a STEAL compared to what other tuners charge)
E-Manage, Int-X tuning = $150
- Please ensure that your vehicle is in working condition as tuning 'from scratch' will not be possible due to time restraints.
- Please list which EMS you are using.
- If you are FI, please list what type of FI (ie; Mazsport Type 1, Pettit SC, etc)
Travel Expenses for MM: Last item of business is getting Jeff to SoCal. It'll cost approx $300 to get him here (travel + hotel) so we'll be splitting up the cost between everyone. This should only be about $20 a person so don't worry. This will most likely be sent to me in advance so we can get Jeff's flight booked and hotel taken care of.
Donuts will be provided in the morning and we will all chip in for Pizza around lunch time.
AP Tuning Jeff will need some time with EACH car that wants to be tuned PRIOR to putting it on the dyno. This will consist of driving with Jeff in your car for a couple of miles of uninterrupted 50 -60 MPH (freeway) This will be done Friday night
Here is where the BHR Team is staying and where we will meet up with Jeff:
Residence Inn by Marriott Long Beach
4111 E WILLOW ST
Long Beach, CA 90815
You can start showing up at 5:00 pm but NO later then 10:00 pm. (Even the Maniac needs his beauty sleep) Jeff will log each car on a first come / first serve basis.
***Jeff will have dinner at some point during that time frame so if you show up while he's gone, one of us will be there and we'll wait for him to return***
Dyno Order for Saturday the 24th (starting at 9:00 am SHARP)
Keep in mind that from the time we load the car on the dyno to the time we take it off could be 30-45 minutes so we will need to be as efficient as possible Saturday. The BHR team will be assisting to keep things in order on Saturday and will be making sure things move along smoothly.
Each person needs to make sure they are prepped and READY to get their car on the dyno at their allotted time slot.
We will be ordering a mountain of pizza so have some extra cash on you and we'll work right through lunch to keep this event moving.
OH DUDE, damn i wanna go just to see...if i had an AP id be all over this...but ill make an appearance
ME TOO!
Jedi: Maybe ill do it just for fun, buy my intake, put an exhaust on, bullshit with my 3hp gain LOL. i dunno ill keep in it mind, and of course with my 20's, i wish i had an AP.

This event is for everyone, it doesn't matter if your car is STOCK or Supercharged.
Even if you guys don't have a ton of mods, this is a great way to know what your car is actually capable of and if you're planning on adding more mods down the road, this gives you a great baseline.
you should do it, every owner should put their car on a dyno at least once. It's a fun experience.

nice! thanks greg for reserving my spot for me! ill definately be there and probably bring the gf along as well! (hope she doesnt get too bored haha...)
as greg said before, im in for a dyno run!
i dont think i should do any tuning though. i think it'd be a waste for me, cause im seriously considering going turbo this coming year.
what i DEFINATELY want to do this time is do maybe 2 runs with the current AP map i have on, then reflash to the stock map and compare to see if i had gained anything with the AP.

By the time you do that, I can tune it! That is about all I do as it stands. Probably 5 runs MAX total.
looking for a place to do the install. Neptune is full with FDs through Jan. I might give JRX a shot.
