No RX-8 this Christmas Wknd
I've got a flooded 8 on Monday and now I'm without her for this whole week and not sure when I'll get her back next week.
Took her to Galpin Mazda Service on Monday 8AM..
They couldn't figure out what was wrong with her and they said they are ordering special spark plugs (what special?). The service guy was saying 8's have frequent problem of this (as if this is new to rotary owners). And now I'm without her for this weekend. Had all planned out to go out Christmas night and weekend.. and I've got a Focus. What the heck is this..
anyway, hope you all have Merry Christmas.

Damn, that sucks!
How many miles did you have on her?
Was it colder than normal? Did she almost fire at all?
Hope the dealership gets her back fast, as a focus is not a fun car to drive IMHO.

I drove a rental focus from San Diego to Las Vegas and yes, they are not much fun to drive at all. Put 4 people in it and they are very "relaxed" when it comes to any kind of accelleration whatsoever.
It's amazing how used you get to having power available when you want/need it, and how much you notice its absence when you're driving something different.

Damn, next time you are in vegas let me know!
I'll bet you got great fuel economy though
If you don't have a powerful car, going up that hill to vacaville or whatever it's called on the 15 really sucks

I had 3666 miles on it, the towing truck guy actually told me as he left the dealer.
and the bad thing about this dealer.. As I told you I left her on Monday 8AM, either they were freaking busy as hell or something, they couldn't figure out what was wrong with her until next day and called me saying they are going to order this spark plugs. Trying to get her back before this weekend, I called and bugged them. I totally understand that Thurs is Christmas and they've got a halfday on Wed. But this guy was saying since the "team" that works on my 8 is off until next Tuesday, I won't get her back until then. Hey, isn't there anybody else that can change spark plugs in Galpin Mazda if those guys were not there to do the job?
well, maybe I should be happy I'm getting her back next week.
