Thumbs up Lucky 7 Racing Socal Mazda Shop

I am super excited. I got my car back from Lucky 7 Racing a few days ago. They do good work and give fair prices. My car runs great. Has anyone else got any work by them? I noticed they have a few Rx8s they are working on. I decided to go with a new engine instead of a rebuild. They installed a new Koyo radiator and performed other maintenance services.

their info in case you need it

That's a mazda Reman, not a new engine. But congrats, glad you got your car running. Finding a good shop is tough.

that's true. I went with mazda reman because my original engine was seized. I over heated a few years ago and let it sit.

Factory motor died at 22,000 miles from a loss of compression (regular oil changes, bone stock). The first Mazda reman died after 74,000 miles at 96,000 miles from loss of compression (3,000 mile oil changes, bone stock except midpipe). The second Mazda reman died after 30,000 miles from a failed coolant seal due to a shitty rebuild, the housing also were below spec and should not have been reused by Mazda. Now I am running a Pineapple Racing built 2008 Renesis and a Greddy Turbo kit. This motor has about 700-800 miles on it.

Thanks for the positive write up and glad other members have dealt with them, looked them up months back and seemed legit, may be paying them a visit soon. So, how much was the cost for the engine and installation? I may be down that path soon since I have the same issue now (~12,000 miles ago) as 9krpmrx8s second reman.

Drove my FE to work and just got off to find one of their cards on my cars window.

I remember reading this thread also.

All these threads about multiple swaps, blown engines at low mileage, and seized engines making me think twice about that SHINKA I was eyeing. :/

That's if you don't take care of the engine! I bought the car knowing nothing about the rotary, found this web forum and got all the basic info needed to fix and maintain it. Both the OP and I made it pass 160,000 miles on original factory engine... Before an engine replacement.
