Sorry, none in Pasadena but I can certainly provide very positive feedback on Tustin Mazda (South Orange County). I have had two visits and they have been very good, provided a free rental car, followed up, etc.. The service manager was Gary Marsters.

Forgive my ignorance here but what does the ECU reflash do ? Does it just update the firmware ? What benefits do you expect from the reflash?

Thanks.

I think it is supposed to help the cel light from coming on and maybe improve mpg. I asked them to do it because I read on the forum that someone asked their dealer to flash the ecu and they did.

Interesting! Please keep us informed of any changes you might experience with the new firmware.

MikeB,

Was your second oil change out of schedule? If yes, what did they charge you? Thanks.

is the no charge on second oil change something that all mazda dealers do or was it because you bought the car from the same service dealer that you go to?

oh also i picked up a couple of quarts of oil today from autozone. i got castrol gtx 5w20, it's in a white container and says heavy duty i think. i've been reading the forum and says to get castrol. i didn't see any castrol 5w20 with syntetic blend so i'm assuming i got the right one, being its just a regular oil.

That should do it. As long as it is 5W20 and a good brand which Castrol is, you are fine.
