CA another new guy

Hi guys and girls,

I'm new to the whole Mazda rotary thing. I picked up a 2007 from a buddy of mine Car is low miles. Down side to the Car he blew the engine and put a 2009 series II engine. I've been on a bunch of forums hiding in the back ground researching. looks like i should sell this low mileage 09 engine and go back series I. I came from a supra and MR2 back ground but i do know about cars and turbos. I have always been fascinated with the rotary engine. Now that i have my hands on one I'm looking forward to revving to 9k ...

I'm sorry let me clear this up. The Car has a S2 engine but not running because he bought the wrong engine. He needed a S1 engine. So I'm going to put it back S1 and drive it

Yea i didn't pay for it we did a little trade. I gave him one of my clean 89 supra turbos. He can't take care of cars so the supra should last him longer then the rx8 did...

Welcome, may be you can just adapt your RX-8 into the SII engine since you have experience tinkering with cars, you might very well be the first of the few?

Thanks for the welcome. I don't know nearly enough to do that kind of swap. From what I've read no has done it and there is no real big benefit. Most people say buy a S2 Car or do the S2 appearance.im misty likely will sell the engine and just enjoy it NA and blow a few engines

I pressume, with the cost of the conversion, it may just yeild you another engine for reserve. Anyway, if have not come across this, now is the time to read it: New Potential Owners START HERE!

Thanks for this post but in my research I have come across this. I will give it another look over. I will keep searching and pick up more information, before asking a crazy question lol. Might have to buy a few things earn some feed back, before I sell items and such
