The 8 is in Hawaii!!

Here's some pics of the 8 that's here from Thurs to Sun.. I must say it is SWEET in person. Got a chance to sit in it too!!

My first impression for the interior is that it's a little cramped in there. Poor lightning combined with black leather made everything dark so the cabin seemed small. I guess it will take some getting used to. It really gives you a wrap around enclosed feel. I'm a pretty hefty dude (6 foot, 230) so you know I filled up that space quick.

I didnt get a chance to sit in the back. But that also looked small. But I really have nothing to compare it to as I never sit in the back seat. However people were sitting back there without a problem. They also seemed to get in and out just fine..

I'm going back to drool some more.. BYEEEE

nice pics Rx-nut! that platform that it's sitting on is shaped like a rotor, right? that is the only rotor they had at the portland show and they had the Mazda6 sitting on it! so how do you feel now about getting one?

Yup it's on a giant rotor shaped platform. I think it's supposed to be spinning or something. It's a good thing it wasnt otherwise I wouldnt have been able to sit in it. I hope it's not spinning when I go back. I wanna sit some more hahahahaha

Now more than ever, I can't wait for my "supposed" 8 to come in! Wooooooooohoo.. Now if they'd just let me start 'er up!

FYI.

There a MNAO rep there saying that this one was pre-production type car. He said although on the outside this car looks like a final run model, it didnt have all the acoutrements of all full flegded 8.. (suspension, brakes, etc etc)

Believe it or not it's a Sony Video Cam TRV-30.. only 1.3MP.. pics arent too bad. Could use more pixels though.. Shoddy vs a dedicated still, but not to shabby for a video cam.

I'm on the Big Island too.

Pre-ordered (paid deposit) on February 25th - who knows what the dealer did though, because he sure hasn't given us a VIN.

If I believed in Voodoo I'd be looking for a dealer doll to stick pins into....

PS. Blue, touring package, manual transmission (stick-shift)

Doh! Who's your dealer? I suggest calling them and asking..

Did that today and was able to get mine.. however had a forum member check status on the VIN and it looks like my car's options are wrong!

They also said the car will be here by the end of the month, yet my VIN status is still 10. Go figure..

Ha ha ha. Yes, have been calling the dealer (Mazda in Hilo). They seem to know less than I do. For example, they said that Mazda have filled in their dealer order but not our pre-order which according to people on this forum is wrong, since people are reporting that the pre-orders were filled before the dealer cars. And no, they haven't got VINs. They are quoting late July, but I am not sure I can believe that if they don't have a VIN yet.

I don't even want to think about the options being wrong! How useless can they be?

Is it true that although the cars ship from Japan, that our cars have to go the West Coast and back again ?!

Wow... your dealer sucks even more than mine. Is your dealer Cutter or something or some other company?

Well according to the VIN check I got from ibfubar, POE (Port Of Entry) is Honolulu.. That means it'll come here I guess. It better not circle the world.. sheesh hahahha
