Latest fubar - ads while logged in

Keep getting this annoying ad while logged in on the full site using my iPhone. This is new and seems to be a recent issue. The bottom right corner of the page keeps rolling up in a visual flap and there is an advertisement underneath the page that keeps popping up. It's happening over and over again during the same login session.

I get horribly annoying mazda ads that have no exit button and the only way to get rid of them is refreshing. Sucks man but hey just like our awesome leader said its the worst financial crisis since the great depression

I have seen them on all the photo's, its a bit much. Is this forum owned by one person? Do moderators/administrators get paid? All these ads must be bringing in a ton of revenue.

Hm, I don't have any ads whatsoever... I suppose AdBlock in Google Chrome takes care of all.

Apparently I really need to buy a Dodge Journey instead of looking at pictures.

Go into your settings on your Iphone and choose the Safari, and then just turn of f the Java. It's a mucked up work around, but it does work. You will have to turn it back on when you want to search though. They are much easier to kill on the desktop.

thanks, I'm only having the issue on my iPwn. It is recent, but relentlessly annoying

it is 99.8% VW ads too. If anyone from VW reads this, I will never buy anything from an f'ing spammer

Because VW has control over where their ads are placed...

I agree with you but for different reasons: the only car I've owned that was more of an unreliable maintenance queen than my RX-8 was my VW Passat.

if you thought the ads were bad, welcome the new form of free marketing that the site is doing ... having each external link go trough viglink

The viglink stuff is horseshit.
Breaks all the links because I use NoScript and will not let viglink use javascript.
Thanks IB...

I don't see what your talking about with Firefox and a few add-on's. I'm going to have to try IE and see what all the fuss is about.

Firefox on notebook
Safari on iPhone

But the phone is the major issue for me, pretty sure its due to being an old iP3 model, supposedly an update is coming that might correct the issue on pre iP5 models

AdBlock plus on Firefox works wonders. No problem on the laptop or Desktop at all. I have not tried IE, chrome, or Safari on these PC's. Safari on my Iphone and Ipad are laden with ads if I leave JAVA enabled. I believe there are other browsers for the Idevices, but it has not been that serious. The Ads are not going anywhere, so you will have to deal with them or fine a way around them.

Blocking Java creates other issues so it's not really a solution

Turns put there is a legitimate iTune store adBlock app for the iPwn (there are plenty of jailbreak solutions), going to try it
