Mark thread starters in a thread

Is it possible to somehow mark a member who started a thread INSIDE a thread?

I have seen other sites that show who started a thread by putting a tag of "thread starter" under his name. This sometimes helps when the threads are a few pages long, and you can tell who you are answering or replying to.

Not a big deal, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Hmmmm... not that I know of. I'll poke around a bit and see if it's possible, and reply to this thread if so. But - I'm not really clear on why this would be a benefit to forum members...?

it would be nice to see who started the thread, so I know who I am directly talking to. LIke I said, it's not really all that necessary, but occasionally it would be nice. Sort of like, if I knew say OMICRON started a thread, I might be more inclined to keep reading, as opposed to someone I'd rather not read the start of a thread about.

Well, maybe I'm missing something here, but thread starters are shown in the thread listings for the forums... see below.

And within the thread, just look to see who made the first post - that's the thread starter.

Yeah, but once the thread spans multiple pages it becomes more difficult without going back to the first page or back out to the thread list. It's just a convenience, but it can be helpful.

yes, thats all i am saying....

if i click on a post from the homepage instead of within a section, the name underneath the thread title isn't the one who necessarily started the thread. So when I click it, I see someone responding/discussing a sunject, but dont know who started the topic.
