Newb topic
Hi, I have never been involved with a board with such an anti newb feel. Could we perhaps have a newb section where we could happily ask dumb questions.
For example - where is the OBD II port. I am sure it is here by the pedals somewhere.....
Or how about.....
.... wait for it
.... which oil to use.
I spent well over six HOURS reading up on oil and was just terminally confused - in the end I went with 5W-30 dyno.... I would have asked specifics about synth and is 10w-40 ok for a 2005 etc.
But, in general, it would be real nice to have somewhere to ask dumb questions, and sometimes REALLY dumb questions. But boften they are not dumb if you are confused with a new car.
There are people on this board who ENJOY being helpful. There are others who feel newbs should do days of research before asking. I am someone who loves to help and, if I got a bit smarter, I would help with some of the newb questions. Just a thought.
I should finally say massive kudos and massive thanks for the FANTASTIC board it is a magical resource - if only I had found it before I bought the rather powerless old girl :-)

OK Mr or Ms Dannobre - I am new so I am dumb. I cannot see a Dumb Question thread and certainly not a topic!!!! And, I might humbly say there is no such thing as a dumb question.... so I go back to my original Pretty Please a Newb Topic which needs to be easy to find I should add
.... Oh BTW I have found the OBD port now - quite convenient when you eventually find it :-)

Saving Up to Be Broke
MauiMazda: Congratulations and have a lot a fun with it!. I know your feeling, that why i hardly ask anything here. I have too look for information here for hours and hours, even before i joined the club. I read a lot of insult and trash talk, it's sad to see rotary owners treating each other like this instead of being helpful. There's owners here who can show u the right direction but are really hard to find. Here's the thread: https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discussion-3/dumb-question-thread-no-flaming-sarcasm-allowed-208221/ GOOD LUCK!

Read this thread, if you haven't yet. https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-forum-197/new-potential-owners-start-here-202454/
For the "newb" issues, there is a section dedicated to why some members react so harshly to newbs.
