I was watching a video from Mazda, which appears to be early in production of the RX-8, and the color of a car on the production line caught my eye. Was this color produced just for the domestic (Japan) only or was it exported. I've never seen this color before anywhere? Looks to be Turquoise.
Edit:
The movie is a repost and I'm only linking it because it looks more turquoise in the video then in the screen captures. The images are about 3/4 way through. Mazda Movie

that could just be the color of all our cars before it is painted...like the factory primer?
im not that knowledgeable but just like how some bodykits come in that turquoise-ish color, our 8 could come like that too before it is painted... just an idea

Yea, I thought about that too but on the second photo they are putting the break rotors on our mounting the rear end or something like that which indicates to me the car has already been painted?

It looks like silver to me, and with the HID overhead lighting, it makes it look different.

That could be the case. But in the video it almost looks definate because the other elements of the image dont have the same color shift. At least on my monitor.

I remember those vids from a couple years ago. Too bad I can't understand it.
This was my loose translation of that vid when I posted about it before:
Standing alone as the only rotary sports car, RX-7. August 2002, the curtain goes down on the RX-7, does this mean the end of the rotary heart of Japanese sports cars?
1967, for 6 years a new technology is being developed, engineers at Mazda strive to create this new rotary dream. Each new car has world class performance, but with each generation the environmental issues create new challenges, will the rotary finally disappear?
However...
...No, the Rotary did not end. The Rotary must never end, once again a new effort has started to design a new Rotary engine. The new generation rotary is born, RENESIS, with performance, quality and craftsmanship. Each engine is hand made one at a time, just like a racing car. An engine that feels like revving to 9000rpm, that's the rotary engine. Built with Japanese tradition (like the katana "Samurai sword" shown) that can only be achieved by humans, that's Japanese craftsmanship. That's why the rotary has spirit (soul). This is Mazda's Spirit, Mazda's pride, only Mazda can do it. This is deeply the rotary engine, the Renesis.
April 2003, a new generation of rotary sports car performance is unveiled, RX-8. The rotary lives again. Engine of the year, RENESIS. Any road, highway, freeway, mountain road, you can hear the sound of the rotary. Mazda's "challenge the spirit" is this energy, the new rotary engine. More now than ever, this is for rotary sports lovers. Mazda.
