Hakone trip pics

2 RX-8s and an MX5 made the trip to Hakone last Sunday. I brought a trigger happy camera clicking friend with me so I thought I'd share the pics with everyone. The link is: http://uwillsee.com/pics/?g=19 :D

Enjoy!

Tom.

Hi EastMoon! Long time no see. Are you going to July meet?

Vegeta - no pics of the lambo unfortunately. For more info on the AxialFlow shifter, try the link below. I like the fact that the shift feeling is very positive. It feels like a well tuned racing car. 1-2-3-4 bam-bam-bam-bam. The stock shifter is a more refined, softer feeling. I sometimes had trouble downshifting to second and keeping the revs up, but no more. I like it Oh yeah, that thread... http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=51489

Trigger - front plate is mandatory here. Looks like rabbit teeth me thinks!

I have the Racing Beat Exhaust which turned out quite handy as the photographer could hear me coming as opposed to the other two quieter cars :D I thought the RB was supposed to be a refined exhaust for the mature adults among us. LOL!!!

Thanks. Yeah, they are quite something. My mate is an avid photographer so he can afford a Nikon D2X which is what he used. He had a couple of lens with him but didn't really have time to play with them all. We'll be heading back out again to do a bit more experimentation.

Just in case you are interested, I've some older pics he took with a D1X at the following url: http://uwillsee.com/pics/?g=10 . I had posted the link before in the Asia section. Some pretty good ones in there too.

Tom.

Very nice!!! The yellow color really looks as lightning yellow should, most cameras don't capture the color right.

I should be visiting Hakone in July, but I think we're going by bus

Don't be too hard on yourself! You've never been in a Japanese traffic jam! Picture 14 million people in Tokyo trying to do something every weekend! I'm jealous of the states because you guys have all sorts of motor events, tracks, auto crosses etc to go on. You get to park your car in a driveway outside your house or in a garage. Mine is parked 5 minutes walk down the street at a parking spot where I pay just over $300 a month and its not even covered. Petrol is currently about $1.40 per litre for the high octane stuff. To take those photos we drove around 350km that day, paid for a tank of gas and about $70 in road tolls. Not that I mind too much though. The roads are in great condition. You also get to see lots of cool cars roam the streets while dreaming of your next mod and the speed limits are not too heavily enforced. There's good and bad too everything
