Victory Red Paint

Hi all-I am a new 8 owner. I traded in my 6s for its big brother. I had a question about the Victory Red paint job. I understand it is metallic and was wondering what kind of hue does it give off in the sun. When I went to the dealer, it looked like pink glitter but perhaps I am wrong. I went ahead and bought a black one but really liked the Red too. There were so many cloudy days lately that I couldn't wait until the sun came back out to verify the paint after I saw it that one initial time on a sunny day.

At first I thought that there were two red paint jobs because I am used to manufacturers offering flat red and then an off-red metallic. I should meet her Monday or Tuesday. I think it will be love at first site!

It is actually called "Velocity" red mica, and it has mica flakes in it like the Nordic green, instead of metallic flakes. The red is a stunning color in the sun,or otherwise.I almost wish I had got the red.Nah I love the green.

Thumbs up

I have a red one. On a cloudy day it looks solid red. In the direct sun it gets a little orange to it. At dusk it looks really deep dark red. I love it by the way. Never noticed any pink. Any color is nice .. so long it is an 8 ! Enjoy !!

Here's a good, sunlit pic of a VR RX-8 (not mine).
