This should be interesting. So why car about the civic? Well, like the Accord, its used as the benchmark by most automakers in terms of power and features, its the underpinnings for about 1/3 of Honda's cars, its suppose to come with a 2.0L direct injection engine that puts out about 160hp/160TQ with 10-15% better fuel economy. Thats alot of torque, in fact thats the same stats as Mazda's 2.3L 4banger. I hope this means that the Mazda3 will get the direct injection engine that the MS6 has sans turbo's, so as to both improve the performance and the economy.
By all accounts the car looks good in the spy shots, and will hopefully usher in more high powered small cars.
In addition, I hope direct injection becomes more common, I think it would help us out as well.

that picture is grotesque...i hope the sedan and coupe look better. I actually kinda like the current generation, after Honda gave it the slight refresh(was that just the coupe, or the sedan too), it looks a lot better
Guys, check out the 90-95% accurate production concept 2006 Honda Civic SI coupe coming out this summer! The previous SI hatchback version could do 0-60 in 7.5 seconds. This new 200hp version that utilizes the RSX-type S engine would make this a new pocket rocket at under 20 grand, and could potentially do 0-60 in under 6.5 seconds. This would definitely give the RX-8 a good run at an amazing value.
