Hey guys. Just wanted to get this out there and hopefully get some feedback. I just read in the November Motor Trend about the Petit Racing Turbo RX8. I have to say the numbers were really disappointing. 3/10 second faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile dropped just a little more than that, top speed went up to 99. The boost on those times was 7 if I am not mistaken. The new brakes actually took a greater distance to stop and the slalom times went up from the stock. The total package was 5k for the biggest upgrades. I hope this isn't going to be the standard we measure by, otherwise I will keep my $5000.00.

I know I am ignorant when it comes to most of this racing/performance stuff, am I wrong in thinking these numbers.... suck?

Also, on Petits website they put up there side of the story, saying the car wasnt truly ready for testing, and that the mag. was supposed to state that.

Thank you very much. I did a search for petit racing and didn't see anything. That makes more sence than the Motor Trend article.

 

Interesting....they should still have known better! If you aren't ready for prime time, don't let magazines have a go at it!

I have no doubts that Pettit will get it right though. Those guys know what they're doing.

Wasn't it a Petit Racing SUPERCHARGED car, not turbo ?

 

It is supercharged, and Motor Trend did give them a crappy write-up ... while the car and kit won't set the world on fire, it is better than represented. RX Tuner will get the real scoop for you
