Let's hope you are right! Start saving up people. But what makes a Mazda salesman in Hawaii have insider information than here in the mainland? It would be out in Japan first.

'93 r1? is this a yamaha motorcycle? the first r1 was made in 1998, i should know, i sell yamaha bikes and own two r1's. a twin turbo would prove very tough on keeping tires fresh. wow!

When it comes to concept cars I believe:

-nothing of what I here.
-about half of what I read.
-about 3/4 of what I actually see.

Turbo?

If at Turbo RX-8 will use more gas than the current model there is no point in them even thinking about taking this motor any further. Frankly it's sick how much gas this motor uses to generate only 238hp.
Mind you.... the car would be an absolute animal with 300 ponies.

Yes a FI RX-8 would use more gas, but when buying the car most of us knew we were in for subpar gas mileage, either as former/current owners of other rotarys, or through word of mouth. So I say bring on the FI, we know what we're getting into.

As far as a twin turbo, I can't imagine that happening over a single, should they decide to use turbo's at all.

The Real Deal

This was posted in the Media News section. Mazda has something up their sleeve!

Speed Magazine, Availible on Oct 26.

"Renegade Rotary
SPEED Editor Sam Mitani gains exclusive access to Mazda's super-secret RX-8. With its specially-designed Mazdaspeed suspension improvements (shocks and springs, anti-roll bars) and supercharged rotary, this is one mean sports car, lapping Willow Springs faster than a Porsche Boxster S or the Nissan 350Z."

No!!! I heard it was going to a triple rotor, quad turbo, all wheel drive, w/ a 7 speed SMG gearbox (or manual), and adjustable shocks. And the price is going to be $29,999, and along w/ the free maintenance, they're going to pay for gas as well!
