my tire pressure warning light went on last friday, I was shock for the moment, then I rush to the nearest gas station to check on the tire pressure, and it's fine, all 4 tires at 32. I couldn't find anything wrong with the car, but the light won't go off at all, then i just have to drove home as usual, something happen when I approach a red light and did a full stop, i realized my car is shaking, well, it always shakes but this shake is very very noticeable, something is WRONG with my car! the idel will even go below 500rpm, the car seems like it's gonna die. saturday i drove it to Menlo, and they said they won't be able to look at the car right away. WTF? i asked him when should i bring it in, they told me monday morning 8:00. and they told me as long as the engine light didn't go on, I can drive it. so i did. and monday morning, i bring it in and leave it there. cuz i gotta work. ok then some bitch at the service department call me at around 1:00pm tell me that my car is being check right now. and they PROMISE to give me a call when they found out what's wrong and hopefully i can pick it up at the end of the day. I waited and waited, no answer, i call them at 5:00pm and check on the status, the same bitch told me they're still checking, and will call me back in half an hour, so i waited again. then i call them at 5:40. wow, they actually closed already at 5:30, this is the service from the what they call #1 dealer. i was so pissed that i have to call today morning, they said they are sorry that they forgot to call me, and my car is still being inspect, what a joke. 4:30 , I finally got a call from them and damn it's a damn good news, one of my motor mount is broken and they found leaks on my engine, so a new engine will be replace! and hopefully it'll take a week or so. I totally don't know what cause it, but I'm assume it's because the road here in San Francisco are so fucked up and the 8's frame is too weak. but anyway a new engine seems very good. even i have to take a bus to work now everyday. haha

You get a free loaner as part of your rx-8 purchase. Make sure you get one. I live in SF have put 20K on the car and unfortunately have bottom out many a time...
Personally, I find these types of issues to be inconvineinces (sp). when we buy a new car, we should not have to deal with "New Engine replacements". it's quite rediculous. if that happens to me, i'll probably sell my 8 or something.
Sorry to here about the ded motor. That's crap the dealer "forgot to call". I pray they don't screw something else up while the motor is being replaced.
yes Mazda pays for the loaner car, that why some of us ^^^ get stuck with Enterprise.

Sorry to hear about that. I've had pretty good luck with my service dept calling me and keeping me posted on what's going on. They also have a rental car location on their property so it makes it easy to get a loaner and so far they have been decent, better than what I get when I normally rent, the last one was a convertible sebring. It was okay, would've been better in the summer. :D
yea I could get a rental car from enterprise, they said i can rent a MERCURY or MELIBU , and i was like..........nah, my friend will take me home. and dude guess what i recieve from the mail today, a survey from North America Mazda. what should i do?
I have had my car serviced twice and had to go through enterprise for a loaner. But both times I paid ten bucks for the upgrade to a nicer ride. Sorry, I am just not going to get out of my 8, and into a chevy cavelier. A ten dollar upgrade gets me a ford f250.
Any idea what they meant by that? Coolant leak? Oil? Out of a disconnected hose or an actual crack in the engine?
Edit: and did they figure out why the TPMS light is on? I can't imagine how the TPMS, broken mount, and cracked(?) engine are related... or if they are?

I have had my looked at twice already from Magnssuns Fremont and all they could do is install a fuse box cover in like 5 months. These stupid ...ing monkey ...s they call technicians don't give a .... I emailed Mazda directly and mailed back their questionaire and told them I never plan on buying anything Mazda if their flagship car is such a ...ing piece of shit that is barely held together.
I am still wating for my Nav to get fixed, continious hard start problem, and oill light problem.
If wasn't so ...ing stupid in financing this car, I would of traded in this ...ing underpowered motorcycle engine car already.

first they told me i always ran on bad roads, so my tire pressure is not accurate, and it's probly the same reason : too hard on take off plus the road problem, my mount is broken, and maybe because of my fucking broken mount, and i still ran on those rough road and some hard take offs, oil is leaking. I was told by this guy Rudy in menlo's service department. this guy promise me to call me 3 times and he didn't. i won't go back for any oil change or anything, they suck!
