Ramps

I want to get some low rise ramps and was wondering if these are any good or if anyone could recommend one.

 

I was wanting a set of ramps myself, but know absolutely nothing about them. Thanks for starting this thread.

 

I use THESE.

They barely clear, but they DO clear. These were also the only ones that would work on the Miata also.

 

one concern...how common is driving off the ramps by accident? I bet that could do some damage to the undercarriage.

 

I just bought a set of Rhino Ramps so I could do my exhaust myself. I got the 8000lb capacity not the 12000lb ones tpryor has. I had no problems clearing them going up or down.

flatso, the only reason you can come off the ramps are if you do something wrong. They are easy to get up on. If you have a 6mt then you can use the E-brake to help modulate speed.

BTW, they were $17.99 at Pep Boys.

 

I drove off the ramps in my old car. What is worse, is that I managed to drive one wheel off, and the other stayed on. I was really worried at that point, but it didnt' seem like I did any damage. :D

 

I guess you have no problem with them hitting in the front Velocity? Looks like we have a winner I think I will get those. Thanks my NJ friend!

 

I bought a set a Wal-Mart for like $20 bucks that work great. Barely clears in the front (with appearance package) -- now that I have the MS bodykit -- ramps are a no go -- the price you pay I guess. Also can't use the jack rails on the side -- heck I had to raise the JIC's up just to be able to get a jack under the car.

 

Yep -- Rhino Ramps, Pep Boys, under $20 for the set.

I can't figure out why anyone would pay over $40 plus shipping for the same things.

They won't work on our lowered Miata, but they work on the stock Miatae and the 8 just fine.

 

But they will work on the 8 with appearance pack?

 

Good question, and I don't know the answer... don't have the appearance pkg. myself.

 

Ya know, I didn't try them on the front. Sorry, I didn't think of that. I used mine to do the exaust. I'll test fit them tonight and see if it clears.

One thing you can do is use a 1 inch thick board right before the ramps. This will give extra clearance.

 

I have the appearance package, and they work fine.

I use Rhino Ramps too. I paid $35 at Walmart. Then saw them for $25 at Checker :p

 

I have those exact ramps and they work fine. I do not have the appearance package.
