hey everyone!

im a newbie to this fourm. i wanted a rx-8 for the longest time. and i finally went to the dealer and looked at one..and mang..it is soo nice..i am dreaming of getting the 6speed manual one with the sporty things with it...but without leather and 6 cd changer for me. i dont think i have a chance of getting tat.

anyways...i wanted to ask how much of a price range am i looking at? im a poor college student and i dont want the dealers ripping me off like mad...my econ teacher got me really paranoid.

my parents bought me a 99 toyota solara sle 4 years ago...do u tink i should go trade tat in? any helpful thoughts or suguestions about what i should do to help complete my dream...im so infatuated with this car...tat i cant even sleep... thanks everyone and BTW: you guys are soooo LUCKY!!! i hate you!!! j/k

p.s: thinking about robbing the dealer~! muwhahaha!

You can go on car sites like Edmunds.com or Kelly's Blue Book (kbb.com) and price out the 8 that you want. They will show you both the MSRP and Invoice on the car. Good negotiating will get you near the invoice price.

I got mine for 300 over invoice, many dealers are offering the car at invoice as well (if you want a manual that is)... Just go to any dealership with a over flooded lot...

Care to share where you got this info? Last I heard, Mazda was exceeding all sales goals on the RX-8...

I dunno but that'd be a pretty cheap Rx-8 Base model 6 speed without sports package , around 19-20 g's after rebate ? Wow . . . lol surely beats the crap outta getting anything else. I dunno kinda hard to beleive, but its from a salesman so I don't know.

No. Considering it and the Mazda3 are currently the only Mazda models that aren't offered with some kind of rebate, that should tell you something.

Mazda is right on target with the RX-8 according to their sales goals posted from last year. January wasn't so great for the RX-8, but then, it pretty much sucked for the ENTIRE automotive industry. You see a lot of them because they're making a lot of them- there are almost twice as many RX-8s available as 350Zs right now, making it easier to talk down the prices. But a 5k rebate? That's reserved for vehicles like the Crossfire that they can barely give away.

edit:I should probably mention that I do agree that 2004 models may be marked down when the 2005s hit, especially if there are still so many sitting around. However, 2005s, no way. However, as always, I could be wrong.
