Just saw the commercial with the dude hugging the car. The base price is now at 27,200 at the end of the commercial. Wonder why that is?

 

the base price for the stick is supposed to be 27,500 perhaps they were refering to the manual. But the base for the auto is 25,700 so if they were refering to the auto, then that does indicate a price increase.

 

Well the commercials always had the RX-8 base price listed at 26,500 from what I remember.

 

That's the price for the base 6 speed. The base auto is like 25,700..

In a commercial it is always customery to show the price of the model listed (the add-on's it may have) etc.. Usually small writing at the bottom "shown model equipped at blah, blah..."..

There has not been an increase in the base price of the RX-8, but there has been a $100 increase in the cost of the option pkgs:sport, touring and GT.

 

On RX-8's that are manufactured now, the price of the 3 packages (Sport, Touring, Grand Touring) have each increased $100. However, that doesn't affect the "starting" price referenced in the "hugging" commercial, which is a base 6-speed. The MSRP on that is $26,680, plus the $520 delivery charge... which comes to $27,200.

 

Wow, I have never even seen a commercial for the Rx-8, where have I been!!

 

Watch MTV or Spike TV networks. Both had tons of Zoom Zoom commercials this past weekend. Makes me want to buy a second one!

 

Vegas...lots of the Taxi's had the billboard ads on them for the RX-8, at least when I went last summer.
