There They Were, The RX-8 And The 350Z.......

when i walked out of the back door to the parking lot tonight at our naval installation, lo and behold there sat a blue RX-8 and a red 350Z, about 20 feet from each other.

these are the two cars i am considering, and folks, i must admit, i liked the looks/style of the RX-8 much better. the 350Z was unlocked, and i opened and peeked in, but didnt sit down. the RX-8 was all locked up, so i didnt get a looksee inside.

i am going to the Nissan dealer friday night and check out the 350Z cars, and then perhaps to the Mazda dealer saturday afternoon to check out the RX-8 cars.

decision time is rapidly approaching. only about three weeks left in that $3,000 rebate Mazda is offering.

Mike

p.s. did i mention the RX-8 looked really sharp?

Be sure and tell the Nissan guys you are going to the Mazda dealership next to test drive the 8 and make a note of all the trash they start spitting at you about it so you won't leave and learn what a driver's car is supposed to feel like.

Both cars are getting a refresh/redesign very soon.

Maybe something to keep in mind to get a better deal or just flat out waiting for the new models.

Well with the new 09 models coming up im pretty sure the older models (08 and below) values will drop , better for buyers who want the older type rx8. Depends what you want , are you looking for a lot of power? Rx8's cant break the 400 whp barrier , 350z's do it with twin turbos easily .

Get a Ford Focus. It's the better car and built Ford Tough.

To the OP:

I just saw a nice new Porsche GT2. I think that it would suit you better than either the RX8 or the Nissan,

Plus, I think there must be a Porsche forum for you to ask questions about it.

Did you need to start so many threads about the same two cars?

I'd rather get me a good ol' Geo Metro. Now THOSE cars are sharp, sexy, and fast as hell!

Check this video. I'm sure the choice will be simple. The only thing he complains about is the styling but im sure you like the way the car looks. Be sure to check out 3:30.

^I think I have watched that about 40 times, love it.

I only thought the trucks were "built ford tough?" Well I now have more respect for the focus.

yeah, i thought about that. but like i said, i didnt sit down in the 350Z, just opened the door and looked in for about 10 seconds. i did sort of look around before i opened the door, and didnt see anybody around, so i just went ahead.

you have a point though. but if i get an RX-8 and somebody opens the door to check it out i wouldnt be too concerned. now if they sat in it, well, that might be a different story. but i'd probably not worry too much about that either.

Mike
