RX8 mod nets 16whp...

What's up guys?

I own an '87 NA RX7 and I'm really excited about what is coming out for the RX8. I mean, yah, all this hp talk kinda gets you down, but once you drive one, it's WOW. I'm looking to put a down on one once my finances pick up

And check this dyno sheet out that I was able to 'sneak' away from a Rotary Performance tech in TX...

That's crazy! That's just a exhaust midpipe & intake modification alone...I can't wait to get my RX8! This just proves how great a rotary engine is. Bless it's 1.3L heart!

David

Kev, Rx7.com has been a great resource for me. Ari and Rocky have always been very helpful, however I cannot find any Rx8 info on their site, I will call and ask, but maybe you could point me in the right direction. Maybe you are referring to products they will offer in the future. Your help would be appreciated. Rx7.com and KD Rotary have been the two greatest resources for me in dealing with my twin turbo 7.

I should have looked at the graph closer, now I see where you got Rx7.com. I still think that their site is bare of 8 info and products, there is plenty there for the 7. If I get a chance to talk to them down there about availabe products for the 8 I will post ASAP. Like I said, dealing with them has been so good that I hope they become a support organization for the 8 as well.

Hi Senseny,

I've never dealt with them - it's a long wet drive for me :D

They do look serious about their 7's, like most tuner's web sites, I think the cars come first and the web is just "more work". Most of the sites (I won't say all) that are full of other peoples bit's for 8's are just internet traders more than rotary enthusiasts!

...my thought's anyway.

Kev. I have never been to Garland, I live a long ways away. I do my biz with them over the phone. However if you are a customer (important) they go out of their way to help you. Ari has run a NHRA street class champion Rx7 (swept all 2000 races he was in) and been on ESPN and many tuner mags. These guys know their poop and they care about their customers (whether you run stock or are modded fully). Recommendations for rotary people are hard earned from me, and these guys get that recommendation. I have spent thousands with them, and all was well spent and their support and advice is invaluable. My mechanic (Dave at KD Rotary in Nazareth PA) also orders products almost exclusively through them.

I don't know how much international biz they do, but if they do ship Down Under and they start marketing for the Rx8, I would say they are worth checking out (although shipping may not be worth it).

I'll second that. A clutch I purchased from them delaminated it's lining 9 months after the install. Trey sent me a full refund. Wow. After that I've only ever worn RP licence frames on cars that I own (even non-rataries).

I'll second it, I've never been to Garland, but Rotary Performance was always the place I went to for all parts for my 7's.

Likewise with KDR, if I still had a rotary powered car, I'd ship it cross-country just to have Dave do the work.
