What kind of guarantee do we get that you will not go out racing the vehicle and possibly crash it or damage it in anyway? I understand wanting to test drive for the research and stuff, but i would be worry about getting the vehicle back damaged.

when you drive it on the streets, will you be driving at high speeds or at posted speeds? I personally do not race my rx8 I have neve rtaken it more then 5-10 mlies over the posted limit. (i know it is capable, I just cant afford any repairs or tickets or worse...) I can understand high dyno speeds, I would be more worried about the streets, not just you guys, but also the other drivers not watching where they are going and crashing into it.

Sorry for all the questions, in different postings, this does sound like a great offer, I just keep thinking about more possible concerns.

Magnaflow is ISO9001 rated and has been in buisness since 1979.

We are hardly a fly by night company:D

www.magnaflow.com

All of the concers are justified and asked rightfully so.

This program is quite standard in the industry and used by most aftermarket companies.(K&N,AEM etc....)

Your vehicle will be covered by our insurance when it is in our possesion.

All vehicles are garaged in doors overnight.

We typically do not keep vehicles over the weekend unless the owner offers.(The weather is too nice to be driving a focus to the beach anyways)

Vehicles are treated with professional courtesy and are not driven above and beyond testing criteria.(No light to light racing, track testing or breaking of the law will occur while we are in possesion of a borrowed vehicle)

Please call with any kind of questions or concers

Hi Brandin,
Give me a couple days to think about it, I have talked to my mechanic he thinks its a great offer and I should do it. He too has done things like this in the past. I would not be able to do it until April 5th- 9th anyway. but also I have to I will need the car the week of April 19th (Im driving to Laughlin for a slot tournament) so I would also need Guarantee it would be back by then. I will let you know by wednesday/thursday this week. (I want to let my wife know and ask a few more people to get a few more comments) If you find someone else willing before then then go ahead. Sorry for the wishy-washy answer it is just hard for me to hand over keys for a $30,000 car to someone I dont know.

Magnaflow makes some great products. If I didn't already have my Mazdaspeed exhaust I'd be all over this...

I'm not too sold on magnaflow. Their forte is exhausts on American cars, not imports.

Angry

If you have ever wondered what it takes to become sponsored, this is an open-door to that world... no proposal necessary, no hassles; you really can't go wrong, especially with a well-established and reputable company making the offer! Good luck trying to get free parts otherwise...

Why am I writing this? Mostly b/c I know how improbable it is to get (full) sponsorship and, after 10+ posts, it's frustrating seeing how nobody has taken Brandin's offer yet! My RX-8 and wife's TSX are currently in the hands of companies I trust while I'm stationed in Korea for a year, with nothing more than a handshake to show for it. Why? The aftermarket industry is a close-knit community that takes care of it's own and anyone involved; competing companies even lend each other vehicles for R&D purposes... more than likely, they will treat your vehicle with more respect than you would your own car. I can't vouch for smaller companies, though.

I am not sponsored by Magnaflow. SOMEBODY TAKE THIS OFFER.

Rob (never got a rental car for his troubles. ever.)

Hey Brandin,

Sounds very interesting... If you take my rx8 can I drive your SRT-4 while you have it?

MagnaFlow RX-8

I took Brandin up on the offer to use my RX-8. I went down there this morning and met up with Richard, engineering - manager of product dev. He gave me the run down and a tour of one of the facilities. Very professional crew, up on knowledge of exhaust systems. All the cars are housed indoors, felt very comfortable thats for sure.

He answered all my questions and let me know more bout the company. I asked to hear the exhaust on the cars and he setup two cars, very impressive. Much better than the audio on the site. Excited to see and hear the exhaust in action.

Thumbs up Thanks RX8 club

Thanks for the kind replys,

We no longer need a RX8 as Nicholas was nice enough to let us do the R&D on his 04 Automatic RX8.(Is it a sin to want to paint my Mustang that color?:D)

Sorry I wasn't able to chat with you I was kind of busy with the dyno when you came in.Sounds like Rich did a good job showing you some of the toys around the shop.

If I need another RX8 in the future I know where to look!

According to Fibrian K. in Production Planning the RX-8 exhaust has been blue-printed and a Ti-model titanium cat-back has already been fabbed and advertised, so I'm a bit confused about the necessity of another test mule, especially an automatic(no offense Nick). I assisted them indirectly in procurring an early-release one from MNAO for test-fit myself months ago and saw it in the shop. Magnaflow is a top-notch family-operated company and very professional. I use their products and attend their open houses/dyno days frequently. Quality/tuning is top notch and worth the money.

Nick I live within walking distance so if you need a check-up on your car let me know, lol!

We are currently developing a stainless system for the RX8.

Completely unique from any of our Ti systems.

Any body willing to speculate on the price? I think it's probably going to run between $600 to $800. I havn't done the exhaust thing yet. It's gotta pass the wife test.
