5W30 not so hot

I've noticed in the 1000 miles since I first changed the oil and switched to Castrol 5-30 that the rotary has lost nearly all its exotic sound and actually sounds kinda strained near redline. I'm gonna switch back to 5-20.

Oh, i feel relieved Jorge! Do you imagine what kind of damage my 10w40 oil could do? And to think that I was about to switch back to the oe viscosity (which is 5w30 here, lol)

Have you also noticed the car wants to drift to the left since the oil change?

5w20 is too thin. How many miles on your car? 5w30 is better than 5w20. Is there any problems with your car besides the sound?

I herd 5w20 makes the car run too loud and strains it at redline. That's why I only use pure baby seal tears. Now it sounds exotic, and my net worth has increased because of it. Thanks internets!

I use veggy oil for my rx-8.

it works well. I mean it. it sounds like a hot Ferrari F50 now. it also increased around 30 hp and 56 lbs of tq. Not a lot but its there. It also makes the car smells like local KFC all the time.

5w20 for america, in europe it's 5w30 or 10w30 depending on the temperature.
5w20 is good for reducing your fuel consumption but that's just it. Just hope that you saved enough gas wise when your engine fails :p
