If some of you remember i was on here a while ago with a lot of questions about possibly buying a 2007 RX-8, after practically getting to the buying day the whole warranty issue came up since Firestone had put the wrong oil in the owner's car Mazda had said the warranty could be void.

Firestone's original corporate response was "we put that type of oil in the RX-8 all the time, its fine"

Unfortunately with Mazda saying they possibly wouldn't honor the warranty ultimately i couldn't purchase the car.

Ironically today the former owner (who sold the car) heard back from Firestone's lawyers saying they will cover the repairs if they ever occur for the lifetime of the warranty.


Bad timing but i'm glad they finally took some accountability, anyway all of you guys were amazingly helpful during my search. Doesn't look like i'll be getting an RX-8 this time just for pure difficulty of finding one (looking at a 06 RSX type S now). Thanks to everyone who helped in my earlier post, look forward to possibly joining the RX-8 madness sometime down the line. Take Care
