well i got about 250 miles on a tank, not entirely full either, was doin 70mph on the motor way to work, 58-65mph on the way home.

redlined twice a day, keep the dsc off as car feels 'free er' somehow lol, even had air con on for 10 mins.

i have been told to turn fan/heaters on windows etc off, as less electricity being used better mpg.

bit like apollo 13 you have to drive using about 2amps of power lol.

i am gonna experiment more will fill tank as full as can get, without affecting the fuel neck/ fuel fumes air filter thingy.

set odometer to zero, and see how much i can get whilst not driving like a granny or a maniac either. sorta a mad granny lol.

one way to get better mpg is to free wheel down any big hills lol, or use a grappling hook on the front to latch onto a car in front and free load lol.

nah too batman

You could try drafting big rigs. Getting in the slipstream behind one of those suckers will not only give you a significant reduction in drag, but they will also force you to drive at 55-65 mph.

Man, I get 13.5 and my dealership says that's in the normal range and won't investigate. I've only got 15k miles and drive like a grandma too!

~26mpg was my record, but that was an entire tank spent on nothing but highway cruising, and driving slowly like a grandma (60mph).

Best way to improve your MPG is to get the Access Port and run the fuel economy map.

tell me this...

if the petrol burned more efficiently at the ignition phase of a rotar's rotation, would this help all of us get 25mpg, or dare i say it possibly 30mpg?

i ask this because i have used a few fuel caps that dissolve in the petrol tank when you add em before a fill up in my mazda mx3, and have noticed better fuel economy, i kid you all not.

they work by helping the fuel burn better at the ignition phase and the unburnt fuel which normally goes out the exhaust is instead burnt, because of a light film for sealing the piston chamber, which means you are using less petrol so more economy etc etc.

so i am gonna try one on a full tank and see what results i get, can't harm the engine as its just making the petrol burn better, and keep the apex seals lubricated together with the engine oil, it may even help it keep the carbon off.

i'll let you all know how it goes, my 8 is in getting the rear wheel arches repainted due to chipping/corrosion which is what happens to the mazda 6 after 4 years so body shop very good at getting it all done under 6 year corrosion warranty, thankyou mazda.

they are gonna do the rear wings and back doors, if the front ones go inside the next 2 years i'll have half the car repainted lol.

all the best

Much like gas mileage, it's hard to fix stupid.

Sigh. Drafting works pretty well too...
