The show was great, good new location, still there were so many cars not all got in. No major annoucements or news, We didn't see a MS8, get info on the Kabura, or any other really juicy info. Scott's kit is f'ing beautiful, like all his stuff. The Pettit car was there, but no pricing info. No news on the ALMS car for next year, it was there, but w couldn't get any info out of anyone on engine choice. We are headed to the banquet, so we'll post more picks and news afterwards.

RG posting here. I'm too lazy to post under my name. For all of you who desperately want to hear of some new surprising news, there is some. In a way. One of the top Mazda guys was on stage speaking and said "you'll be proud of the next generation of rotary engine". What that means I don't know but we've got a rotary future!

i guessed alcohol because i didn't see any intercooler.

looks great either way!

Hey John,
Is that a new ECU lid by mazsport to cover the Interceptor X and OEM PCM?

So far I feel fairly underwhelmed by your discoveries, sadly, but I had no expectations. In the back of my mind I was hoping something, anything, factual and material about the rotary's future would be on hand. I want to see someones supercharger for sale, not another turbo; I don't really care about being 'proud of the next gen rotary', I want to see it or better yet be able to own it - as in a MS8 or some other vehicle.

It's early still, and I know your guys are searching far and wide to find us news, perhaps it will come a bit later in the event. Keep up the good hunt, ask all the probing questions, maybe you'll turn up something good yet. Thanks for keeping us updated!

To answer the questions:
The ECU Lid is covering the interceptor X sitting with the stock ECU. It's a part scott will be selling.

The intercooler is an air to water intercooler. It's very compact and a really awesome design.

Prices for Scott's stuff was announced but sadly it's a little bit pricey:
Type 1 Kit including Int X is 7995.
Type 2 kit including Int X is 9995.
Type 3 kit including Int X is 8500.

The difference between the kits is turbo placement, intercoolers and the amount of power they'll put out. All of them are listed for up to 400rwhp though they're still working on the tuning.
The type 2 kit is really impressive when you look at it. There will also be a type 4 kit soon.

We did see the AFSC on richard's car. We saw quite a few different versions of the supercharger itself.

There was some very concrete stuff announced just now at the banquet. Mazda will be announcing a new mazdaspeed vehicle next week! We heard that from the head of mazdaspeed (he was drunk). He wouldn't tell us which one because there were some press people there but he said it would be announced next week.

We have many pics to post including some video of the Courage and RX792P driving! You'll have to wait a few days for those though until I get home. Tomorrow we are going to Racing Beat. I'm tired and going to bed soon so no pictures tonight.

Some of my favorite quotes of the weekend so far are:

"Someones got to make this **** work" - Rick Engman

"Just because she's fat doesn't mean she's ugly" - Mazdamaniac

"If you think a girl is ugly, lower your standards" - Mazdamaniac

"No two girls together are ugly" - Mazdamaniac

"No girl is ugly with your **** is her mouth!" - Mazdamaniac

If you haven't guessed by now, Jeff is a riot to hang out with! I need to send a special thanks out to Mazsportscott. 7 of us went out after the banquet and Scott covered the whole bill. Thanks Scott!

Pics will appear soon, I promise. We just need the time to do it.

Whats with the type 2 being higher priced than the type 3? Do we have any details on the major differences or power output? Sorry I'm just curious and excited about there being a reliable turbo that i may want to go for...need to save up the pop cans for it and trying to figure out how many i need!! Thanks

Great info.

Dose Scott work for Mazda? Is this a factory approved turbo kit?
