I believe i should have my '10 R3 revoked from me from the rotary gods but i got curb rash w/ 1600miles . . . . . . . please bare with me. I looked over the area and thank god that the R3 rims are like $800 a peice & high quality or else i think i'd have some harsher curb rash but anyways. The curb rash is like a 1/10 of an inch wide not even and its on the lip of rim 1 rim. I've done my fair share of reparing alloy rims but seeing as these are a bit more....expensive i was wondering how i should approach this. What i'd ususally do ----
(keep in mine this is more of a scratch rather than a dented scratched, it just took some paint off but didnt scratch downward into the rim)
--- I'd tape around the area and give a bit of slack on each side of the scratch and clean/sandpaper it with a couple sounds of sanding w/out puddy until its smooth then just like 3-4 paint coats and some scratch filler and clear coat.
Should I take this approach with these rims? I'll be posting pics in about like 30min or so. May the rotary gods be with me.

Lol I realised that i typed my process out of order, yea I'm going to put scratch filler then sand pant coat etc. Sound good? Or should I put like bondo puddy or scratch filler?

Keep religion out of this. Use a small g when referring to god.

I stick my head out the window to park most of the time. Yes I look like a fool. Yes I even do this in the work parking lot. No I do not have any curb rash.

you just rashed your WHEELS. There is no such thing as a RIM on a stock RX-8.
Regardless - you are screwed now as it could be very dangerous to drive the car with damaged wheel. You better go buy new wheels. Get a hold of me offline and I will take your dangerous wheels out of your hands...at No Charge to you ! Just looking out for your safety. And my desire for R3 wheels. Ha
just call those wheel repair shop have them fix it for ya. I have same rash on my wheel when I bought the car, never bothered me. I asked its like $100 bucks to fix.
