2 stroke oil tank conversion

for 2009 and newer models is still possible?

Is this as simple as bypass oil feed from engine and feed it from a standalone oil tank?

any need for a oil pump to feed the emop?

folks have been using gravity feed for the OMP/MOP adapters for years.

The up side of gravity fed compared to an oil pump is gravity never fails

Might sound stupid.

but do we need to unbolt complete intake to gain access to emop for this conversion or is any easier way around? just had a quick look in there and does not seems too easily accessed.

FORGET IT... Engine Oil Must be supplied to EMOPS Via Oil Control Valve between 7 and 21 PSI, Disconnection of OCV and Oil Supply will cause CEL issues...

This is an entirely new oiling system never used before in ANY Mazda Rotary..

Give it a try if you wish...

You will have to remove all of your Air Intake to get to EMOPs, and or your Coils to get to OCV..

why. S2 is already eating a LOT more oil than S1, almost, 3-4 times more.
S1 needs half a quart between oil changes, S2 is about 2-2.5 quarts.

/\...Wrong...I use just over a Quart every 3000 Miles...( 1 litre per 5000 KMS)

I do not know where you get 'S1 needs half a quart between oil changes'..??? from.

According to the Mazda 09 FACTORY Service Highlights for Series 2, the New EMOP's system is designed to use LESS engine OIL.

In my S1 I waited till the oil light came on and then dumped in a quart... never had a problem. So far, after 1500 miles in a 2009 R3, I have added 1 quart. To be fair, I didn't check the oil level when the car was delivered so I have no idea how full it was then.

Thinking about it, the consumption rates seem similar as I got my oil changed every 3k and usually added 1 quart between changes on the S1.

I been religiously keeping track on my oil and its been always half a quart every 600 miles to 700 miles. say an oil change is 3000 miles, that would be at least adding oil 3 times thats 1.5 quarts.

This suspiciously looks like it may be turning into yet another oil thread.

Let's get back on track with the OP's original question. Not sure why he wants to do so(or was thinking about it), but oh well.

Just premix it yo. If you can get Legend brand snowmobile race 2cy get it. I've used it in my old sachs rotary snowmobile for many years and I also have used it in my fd back in the day and my rx8 when I have it and the smell is far better than the amsol I usually use.
Seems like you may make yourself more problems rather than make things more reliable with such a conversion. My advise is to let someone else jack their new car and learn from thier mistakes.

??...what year is your 09?, there have been a few PCM changes by Part Number and I have this sneaky suspicion Mazda have even increase the Oil use Volumes in S2's, I am "trying" to get Mazda to confirm it...so, I have the first MY 09, and perhaps mine is not pumping enough Oil?? (glad I Pre-Mix)..

Or the other answer could be you press harder on the Gas than I??, Load and RPM will alter amounts of Oil Used?..

With 30K, KMS done (18,000 Miles), I virtually use the exact same amount of OIL as day 1, I use the same Fill Bottle with 200 MM gradings, I check when Cold where the oil should be about 5 mm or 1/4 inch Below the F mark (when Cold, car on level surface)..

I don't nanny my car, But I also don't thrash the GUTS out of it, a bit in between, I also don't track because our Piss Weak Government or Business won't re-open the only track my state has..GGGrrr...it went broke.

I think mine was made in late 08. I drive pretty normally. I dont WOT all the time. redline a day.
its 14k miles on it. oil consumption has been the same since I got it, half a quart every 600 miles. I also check oil level when cold parked over night on level surface.
I just dump half a bottle of a quart bottle when the level is just below the half quart dot on the dipstick.

Reason to do this was to inject oil that has been specifically made to be burnt, engine oil was never meant for this.

Premix is only insurance the housings have consistent oil film all over.

Might be overkill I don't know. but so far its working good.

Since 2 stroke oil injection is out of question for the moment, (in hope there will be someone finding a way sometime)

is that 100-1 ratio in tank is okay? too little, too much?
