Tapping the cluster for power - question
I want to add a USB port to the top of my dash for my nav so I don't always have a cable running down my center console. I know the cluster is fairly easy to remove so I thought that'd be a good starting point. From the pictures I've seen it looks like there's plenty of space at the top of the fairing to fit a port (perfect spot too). I'm fairly sure I can find a 5v rail to tap into on the cluster circuit board, but I want to be sure I'm not going to blow the fuse.
TL;DR: Is there enough headroom to pull (up to) an additional 2.5A @ 5V from the cluster without blowing the fuse?
I found some good diagrams here: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tec...wiring-171494/
but there are no current specifics other than the listing of the fuse.
