To start, I understand that the new user restrictions are in place to prevent spamming but mods please consider moving this thread to the appropriate sub-forum (series II/Interior, Audio, and Electronics) so that it can be seen. That would be much appreciated!

Now, has anyone installed the official Mazda ipod integration module/harness?
I've read extensively about iPod integration options for the Series II and there don't seem to be any other options like there are for the 1st gen.

I have a couple questions for anyone that has or has had the ipod integration module (TD91-79-CFZA) installed in their series II 8, but first the specs on mine:
2009 w/ Bose 6 disk - no nav

1. Is the harness (C9F8-V6-029) necessary for models without navigation?
   I assume so but I don't know.
   
   
2. Do the steering wheel controls work to control the iPod?
   
   
3. Does the current song artist/title/time info display on the screen?
   
   
4. Can the user browse artists, albums, songs, and/or playlists with the radio controls and in-dash display?
   I read that it only supports browsing playlists but I suspected that the page was referring to the series I. It wasn't clear so I thought I'd ask to be sure.
   
   
5. Does the Mazda module "lock out" the iPod while the iPod is plugged in?
   
   
6. Does the Mazda module disable the AUX input in the armrest?

Sorry in advance for not posting experience on Mazda harness but there are knockoffs for Series II appearing for iPod now that allow the control you're looking at, here's an EBay one:

I'm not affiliated in any way with the seller nor can I recommend it. I would like to hear about anyone's experiences with these or the MP3 ones though. Not sure I care enough to put one in as I'm tracking my RX8 mostly now.
