Hardwiring a Passport 9500ix; need wiring help
Using a Blendmount/Invisicord combination to mount a Passport 9500ix under my rear view mirror. Was wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram and can confirm that the CENTER pin of the Homelink mirror plug is in fact a ground. Having a tough time getting the Invisicord to work. Open to suggestions from anyone who's used one successfully.

Did verify with a voltmeter that the center pin was my ground. Finally got the Invisicord pins plugged in and the cord is operational. The setup is as slick as I've seen. I'll post pics soon. The 9500ix is a ridiculously intuitive and effective piece of electronic wizardry. The Valentine was good; in my opinion the Passport is even better.

I'm assuming you meant visibility. Great question; the answer is no. The unit is only an inch and a half high and sits just above my horizontal sight line. MUCH LESS obtrusive than the suction cup mount on the windshield. The cord I used is 8". The mount and the cord have plenty of adjustment.

Update: After wrestling with the Invisicord for two weeks with unreliable connectivity, I ordered a Stealth Cord. HALF the price of the Invisicord and because it uses pin connectors instead of blade connectors, it solidly plugged into the homelink mirror connector in a matter of seconds.
Anyone considering this type of setup, save yourself a lot of time and aggravation, take a pass on the Invisicord and go right to the Stealth Cord...half the price, exceptionally fast shipping, and quick reliable installation.

3/4" works on the stem for the Homelink mirror. Not sure on the base model mirror.

The cord length is 8", plenty of cord for the Blendmount. I know, $80 is a bit steep, but it is a GREAT mount. By the way, like I mentioned, go with the Invisicord. I found the connectors to be MUCH easier to plug in than those on the Stealthcord.
Thanks, Jedi. This 9500ix is definitely the bomb. Not cheap (can be had, though, for right around $400) but incredibly inutitive and nowhere near the false alarms as any others. When this thing chirps, you pretty much KNOW there's a LEO in the area.

Hey, the way I see it, you spend $400 or $500 for a radar detector, you can justify a $80 mount...especially when the setup looks as good as that. Looks like you went with the Invisicord, too.
