^^ Very nice. Know of any other than race setups ?
I DO Ive seen all of these cars in person The first one is a three rotor by BERGENHOLTZ BROS, and the second one is a 4 rotor by BMI RACING, Its actually the only 4 rotor RX8 running, but not for long as fellow member 26bRX8 is working on his 4 rotor and is almost complete

I'm sure you can add a custom FI kit to the 09. The trouble will be you have to piggy back the management and overcoming some small problems that will come up. The exhaust manifold will fit and the intakes will fit. The stuff in between that are not engine specific (Though I know they affect the engine, just you can always upgrade the wastegate, turbo, intercooler, piping, etc.).
Our kit bolts up to the 2009. The only difference is that 09+ has only 4 injectors and previous models had 6. Our included injectors would drop into the secondary location and the OEM secondaries would have to be moved into the primary location. The fuel pump would also drop in. This means our entire kit would bolt up without issues but like was mentioned before, the wiring harness is different so the tuning/software/ECU that is performed will need to be 09 specific.
Chris the issue is no aftermarket tuning solution for the 09+ RX8s yet...
I wouldn't be surprised if the Auto version of the Int-X worked great. I doubt mazda developed a completely re-pinned harness for the new 4 injector setup when they sold a 4 injector setup in Autos for years. It is very likely that they just combined the old Auto harness with the part of the old M/T that controls the APV and called it a day.
I would like to try, lets see when I can get my hands on one and I will let everyone know.
Is it possible to put a '09 RX-8 auto motor into an '08? I was thinking to pick up one as a spare for mine but not sure if it fits easily. I did find a '09 complete motor with 7k miles on it.

My general thought is that people who are unwilling to read the STICKIED posts in this exact forum before posting about forced induction have no business messing with their engine.
