Racing Beat Air Duct for S2

I thought a saw a thread somewhere that mentioned if a series 1 air duct would fit on a series 2...but i couldnt find it with my minimal searching

so i just wanted to confirm that the air duct for the series1 will fit on the series2....just need to get different mounting brackets, which took 5bucks from lowes.

What is it good for? Is there a shortage of oxygen wherever the stock air duct is?

For 'normal' car use...imo ...no...OEM intake is fine for a OEM engine set up.

Some disconnect the VFAD (S2 Auto's made after Nov 1 2008 no longer have the OE VFAD) by removing vac tube (line) under Throttle Body, but you must install a blanking nipple cover over the nipple.

So, is there any benefit using the RB Revi duct with a stock intake box? I should ask is it even possible? Thanks!

Yeah, you pretty much get the same effects of a CAI at a much cheaper price. I noticed a tiny improvement in my mileage since I added the duct and yes it is possible to have it with the stock airbox in place.

You could get about the same result with a directional cover over the stock VFAD filter correct?

WRONG...

The so called S2 one (Pic) is from an AUTO S2 and is not a VFAD, as I said above the VFAD was removed for the Auto Trans ONLY in S2 from the above production date.

Manual Trans S2's (including 2012 Spirit R man) of all years still uses the S1 VFAD in first pic.

ASH8 - LOL

So, really no downsides to removing VFAD then? Looking at the pics, it looks like Revi duct eliminates it completely as well!?!

Only remove the vfad if you add the duct or some kind of intake. Without the vfad you'll just be sucking in hot air from under the hood.

So, on another thread, a poster said when using the scoop with OEM inbox, there is a giant gap and it does not mate well. Has anyone experienced this? I really wanted the scoop more than anything else. Thanks

I got mine on my r3 with stock air box. I just had to loosen the bracket and give it a little push. No big deal to me I got it for $100 bnib from a friend that never installed it
