Question Mods and CELs

I am planning to get the RB REVi and their muffler set up for my 09 R3. My question is to all of you owners out there who have done the intake and exhaust thing. Have any of you gotten cels from doing this? In my communist state of MA dealing with the error codes becomes old quick when we have to get our cars inspected. Any input would be appreciated.

Intakes and cat-backs will not generate a CEL unless done incorrectly.
However... if you get a mid-pipe (cat delete), it will cause a CEL to illuminate since you're removing an emission device.

My general thought was it wouldn't throw any codes, I just wanted an idea of how sensative the mazdas ecu was since we currently don't have any way to tune. Once again, appreciate the comments.

The O2 sensors do not monitor the cat-back system... so no worries there.
The RX8 ECU is pretty sensitive, which is why you shouldn't install any "universal" intake kits.
Changes to the intake such as the ID size can create issues.
This is why its good to stick with known brands such as Racing Beat or AEM.

Good to know about the o2 sensors. I have tons of experience tuning since I got my wrx back in 2003 and learned the in's and out's of Subaru. Now it's on to my first rotary and didn't want to get trapped in any black holes from starting to work on it lol. Thanks again.
