Factory standard parts

So i am getting my R3 back from the shop today due to some tranny problems. They gave me some recommendations that i should get new spark plugs and brakes. For the spark plugs if i let them do it they were going to charge 300+ for new ones. I started thinking how much better is the stock plugs are compared to the ngk laser iridium plugs. Also for the brakes i was looking at getting the hawk hps. If someone knowledgeable about spark plugs can help me out with this that would be awsome.

the stock / OEM spark plugs are NGK's.
you can get them at sparkplugs.com and most local auto part stores carry them. Expect to pay between $20 and $24 a piece

hawk pads are great, I use the hawk ceramics on my RX-8 and my Bimmer.

Do they feel different than the factory brake pads (response, grab, fade, etc)?

I think they feel better to be honest. Response is excellent, fade isn't noticeable with street driving or canyon runs, and a LOT less dust.

Havent had to change the brake yet on mine, did a good service/greasing this summer, im at 50000 km and around 1/2 lesft on them, for brake Hawks pads are great I also like the EBC Red or Yellow stuff (actual name) and replace your disk with OEM or equivalent, not cheap ebay stuff, they will rust like hell in no time.

concerning your plug, OEM recommendation and noting else, as for the installation, dealer is always expencive, if you can do you own oil change, you probably can replace your plug yourself, if you do, you have a trailing and a leading plug at each cylinder, its important they are a the right place and dont tighten them to much 18ft-lbs is enought.
