Anyone with RB twin-tip exhaust?

Anyone with RB twin-tip exhaust?

I'm going to be ordering a cat-back exhaust soon. I'm leaning toward the twin-tip Racing Beat one, but I have a concern. The twin tips are close to the rear bumper shroud cutout (on the sides). Have any of you that have the twin-tip seen any melting or discoloration of the shrouds?

I have them. About a year and a half now. No problems at all as far a melting or color. The only issue with them is that since they are staggered side-by-side, the inboard tip alwats gets black and covered with soot within hours of cleaning. After a couple weeks of being ****, I just gave up and let them get dirty.

Two local members have had this exhaust, we just removed it after two years on my buddies RX-8 because he sold it and the rear bumper was fine. It is actually for sale now, it went to another buddies R3 and then it unfortunately got wrecked. I also have a brand new one in my garage waiting to go on another buddies R3.

It is a really quiet exhaust.

Thank you to both of you. I hadn't thought about the one tip staining the other. That probably would drive me nuts.

My main problem with the Racing Beat exhaust is that it's heavier than the OEM one. That's why I keep going back to other ones that are lighter, like Borla. However, I like the Racing Beat one in every other way. I do wonder if it's going to be too quiet for me. I want something a bit louder than OEM but not obnoxious.

With the cat still on it is only slightly louder than stock. I ran it that way all last year. This year I put my RB no res midpipe back on. Quite a bit louder that way.

In terms of weight, it is really quite a but heavier than the stock setup. But the highly polished mufflers hanging below the trunk look beautiful though.

They discolor a little but more they melt the shrouds on the side if you go on track. I was a little disappointed with the sound, well it sounds deep, but isn't all that different than stock, at least not for the price paid. They are really beautiful though.

I bought the Racing Beat twin-tip exhaust last year. I love it. If you're looking for an exhaust that's a lot louder than stock, it's definitely not for you, but I love the sound. I could sit at the back of the car and listen to that idle all day long. It sounds great when you fire it up, too. I appreciate the fact that they use a heavier gauge steel to keep the sound in the exhaust more to reduce drone inside the cabin (although that probably explains why it's 8 lbs. heavier than stock). After installing the RB exhaust, I noticed that highway exhaust drone actually went down, but I love the sound when you get on it. Also, I'm hoping to get the BHR long-tube header, and I figured that a quieter cat-back exhaust might be a good idea.

I have One too for about 2 years And it's still perfect no problems ya the inner pipes do get dirty but there easy to clean and it is a bit quiet like I'm dying to get th daul resonated mid pipe from RB or maybe. The long tube headers

I have one. I love the sound. I've transferred it over twice when I've changed R3s as I love the sound and look.

However, unlike other owners, I've had problems with melting the exhaust shrouds, albeit only when I've done track days. It's been fine in road use and I take the shrouds off for track days.

I bought a 2010 R3 a couple of years ago. First thing I did after I purchased it was order up the BHR coil set. Car only had 22k on it and one of the coils was already starting to go. Anyway, next thing I did was install the racing beat air intake, I know those get some bad press around here with not adding any power, but the RB intake really is beautifully designed, and for an intake has a really nice mellow sound. Anyway, on to year three, and I can't stop thinking about how beautiful those Racing Beat twin tips look on the back of the R3, add in the nice quiet tone, and it seems like one of the only exhausts I would want on my car. Question is, I am also looking at the new BHR long tube header, so should I wait until I can get them at the same time or should I install them separately?? With that setup I have to imagine the sound would be nothing short of amazing. Just looking for anyone that has the longtube header/rb twin tip set up(I know the BHR system hasn't been out long).

I also want to know more about the combo of a BHR header and RB REV8. I want a lightweight single exhaust for now, but it will likely be too loud with the header.
