Does this "really" change or help in the RX-8's performance or just add a different sound or more noise...??
You see I am a strong believer Mazda have got their Rotary Exhaust Systems fine tuned to get the best out of their rotaries..
They spend many many hours ($$$'s) on tuning it correctly and making the system the best.
Just installing any system does not mean it is better,... better spin and marketing perhaps.
Sorry, I am yet to be sold on any of the so called benefits..

The AP exhaust also comes with a midpipe , so if you use that and get rid of the cat .... I'm sure you'll prob see a difference. If you just do the Catback , you're right, prob more noise and appearance than anything.

i like the idea that racing beat does only mazda stuff. and nothing else. it seems that all the r&d $ spent from other companies on so many different cars can get diluted.

Looks good! What do you mean by fabricating? Did you reweld the tip lower or did you get a longer hanger?

o and another thing, when i tried lowering the whole exhaust, if you look underneth the car on the door sides, you can see the pipes,it looks weird alittle,
fabricating would be that the shrouds had to be split apart, with a dremwheel kit, alittle shaving at the bottom of the reflector which would leave about half n inch away from the exhaust tips,

Yeah I used longer hangers from autozone. It's still not fitting as good as I want it to... I'll probably mess around with different hangers or get adjustable once later.

You know the "tips/outlets" are manufactured/welded to be lower on the S2 OE Rear Muffler.
In other words an S1 OE Muffler (with outlets/tips), won't clear rear bumper shroud on S2.

Got you mate..
I thought you did....the TXS is incorrect to say 2002 (2?)-2011.
Won't be long and 'melted shroud syndrome' will happen to that red beast.
Part of the reason WHY Mazda changed the rear a little in S2 with a larger clearance/gap.
I guess you can get away with longer "hangers" with TXS small mufflers, but IMO if one did this to an OE heavy S1 CAT Back on a S2 you could have stress issues on your CAT Front.

I used 4 of these -

I'll try to measure the length this weekend. I'd say they are at least an 1" longer then stock.
The exhaust may actually fit better with 2 stock and 2 autozone hangers with the longer hangers being furthest back if that makes any sense. I didn't have time to mess around with them to see if that would actually work.
Also the autozone hangers are alot thinner then oem which allows for the muffler to swing side to side alot easier then stock. Doubling up the hangers may solve that.

-We have changed the Tips to a slash cut style which accentuates the lines of the rear bumper fascia.
-Tips were also extended to reduce hot spot when used with the racepipe
-All pipes were polished to a mirror like show car finish.
-Burnt Blue Tips"
In the description of the video. Maybe they lowered them too?
