Winter tires longevity ?

I just switched my winter tires to summer tires today. And theres a significant amount of tread gone from my rear winter tires. I have blizzaks which i bought brand new and have used them for 2 winter seasons. I havent rotated them though so basically the rear tires have been used for 2 winter seasons and i would say about a bit less than half the tread is gone on the rears. Is this normal ?? I changed to my summers a bit late this year, could driving on winter tires on dry road finish them quicker ??

thanks

yes. The compound used in winter tires is softer, and depending on weather/temperature/etc, it will make them wear much quicker

I pull mine off whenever the roads are clear, they're on a set of 17" OEM mazda6 wheels.

I want the winters to last the rest of the life of the car, so I'm putting very little mileage on them as they do wear quickly outside of their element.

Just finished my ninth winter on my Toyo Garit snows, and they show very little wear.

Pretty sure they will outlast the '8.

9th winter !?!? I looked at my rear tires compared to my fronts and there was a significant wear. I guess i should swap to summer tires ASAP once the snow is gone next year.

Everytime you put them on it should be in a new configuration, Bizzaks are not directional so they can be swapped side to side also.

Just bring your fronts to the rear directcly, and your rears to the front while swapping them left to right everytime you put them on.

It's very helpful to have a separate set of wheels so you can do this at home.

Take them off when the road is clear.

Update: my winterforces are just about done as far as good winter use goes, I used them for something like 9 months and put about 15 thousand miles on them, they all have at least 4/32 on them still but their snow performance is dropping off, still better than all seasons though, I'll probably replace them this fall.
