Will It Fit Thread

If you don't want rubbing issues the easiest thing to do (since it seems like you're new to wheel fitment - not hating, I'm no expert) would be to keep it at the stock size, 18x8 +50. It won't look as nice as a flush fitment but you won't be turning your poor RX-8 into a monster truck.

I don't think you understand how this works. A body kit + 1" lift won't look good. Hell a bodykit and stock height doesn't look good. More aggressive wheels and stock height doesn't look good. Look up the pictures. They exist
An inch isn't anything, I could have an empty tank and then fill it up and lower it more than an inch, would you notice when I was driving on empty...no. I'll end this here since there's no point in arguing with a Texas conservative with no experience in modifying anything but wheels.

Ummm, nope....
But since you didn't actually come here for any advice because you seem to have all the answers already, why don't you go ahead, buy those wheels, LIFT your 8 then post up some pics on here for us so we can all have a good laugh?

Advice? Who asked for advice? I came here for objective measurements as to whether or not tires would fit and all I've been getting from these jerk offs is subjective opinions. The only one who has said something useful is obliterx8, so it's about time you guys hop off your ego ivory towers. If you want a stock looking car get off the forums, and if your looking to just laugh at peoples ideas that go against the norm enjoy your stagnant life while everyone else zooms by you.
OK, I have been reading for day's trying to validate the following:
18x9 +40 offset with 265/35's
From everything I have read I'm pretty sure they will have no problems in the rear but up front I'm still not clear.
Currently I'm at the stock height, but will probably lower it by 1 to 1.5 inches in the future.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should be safe with those by my account. I'm looking at 18x9.5 +30mm and the only limiting factor I'm having with 265/35's is that my suspension may be a little too soft and cause rubbing on the 265's. With the +40mm offset and 9" width you should have tons of room.
And you are running the 18x9.5 +40 with 265's in the front as well? I ask because it seams like the plus 30mm in the front would poke out like .5 inches outside the body of the car.
Any chance you have a picture of the front of your car with the new wheels & tires?

No I'm just on stock wheels right now. I'm looking into different wheels and what offsets will work for me and the suspension I have still so I know what to expect when I do buy a set of wheels. I'm looking at a set that is 9.5 width with a +30 offset, not +40, and I know that with a 255/35 tire I will need a fender roll and most likely a slight shave of the rear bumper and front corner light tabs. I am lowered approx 2" on Tein S-Techs and Koni Yellow struts.
You have a wheel that is 10mm more offset meaning the outside of the tire will be 10mm deeper from the inside of the fender. So say you go with a 265 tire that means it is 10mm wider tire, divide that in half because it basically adds 5mm to each side of the wheel and you should still be 5mm further in from the fender than I would be with a +30mm offset on 255's. With stock ride hieght I'd say your chances of rubbing are slim and even if you lowered the car you might still be okay, but a fender roll is not the end of the world either as you can rent a tool to do it yourself and it is pretty easy.

Ok I know this thread is very long and I've tried to read as many pages out of 435 as I could before I asked any questions. I think I have a good idea of what fits and what CAN fit with fender rolling or the good ol' rubber mallet. I'm just looking for a flush look, as in wheels even with the fenders or as close as possible. No extreme camber, No poke or rake, just flush.
I'm lowered on tein coilover adjustables at about a 2 inch drop.
Heres what I'm seriously thinking of buying
wheels (non staggered) 19x8.75 +35 offset
Still debating on tires? I'm thinking 245/35/19 should fit just fine?
I want to have just about a finger gap between the tire and fender both front and back once the wheels/tires are on
Problems? ideas?
I've also considered deep dish wheels but have mixed feelings about those looks wise and problems that might arise.

From what I am understanding from reading through this thread is that the less positive offset you have you need to make up from lowering and camber? - someone let me know if I am on the right track.
A fellow member SamPappas had a set of XT206-R's at 18x9.5 +10 225/40 and commented this
.
My car is currently 2.5" lower all around and running 245/35 +33. If I decided to run the exact same setup as SamPassas except 18x9.5 +10 245/35, what changes would I need to consider? Thanks!

Yeah fenders are rolled, tabs are cut in the rear, tires are stretched and wheels are cambered.

No, lowering the car makes it more difficult to fit wider tires. The 245 tires are going to be 20mm wider than Sam's. I'm no expert but I'd say those sized tires will be very difficult to fit at that offset.

Anyone tried to Rota RT-5 in 17x10 +50? Would fit 255/40/17 autocross-grade tires on an autocross / track day car. I'd be aiming for a 13.5" ride height. This setup would be 1" wider on both sides of the hub centerline. Trying to figure out if this would require any rolling at a reasonable ride height.

If you are going 18's then don't stagger, just get a good 18 x 9.5 +25-+30 all the way around and run a 245/40-18. 255/35-18, or 265/35-18 depending on what you plan to do with the car. And look at tire specs because the numbers on the tires are more of a rough idea, for example a 245/40-18 of one brand can vary quite a bit in specs compared to a 245/40-18 of another brbrand.
What size rims?

Would +35 offset be to much? Cant find 25 or 30 only 20
