Tire Shops?

Maybe it is just me, but do tire shops care about selling stuff?

I just called one and they gave me the "Sorry we don't have any info on that car"

So I spewed all the info he needs. 18x8 5x114.3 50mm offset.

He says, doesn't exist, no rims with that bolt pattern?? WTF? I did a search online found tons of them. He says, your wrong they don't exist.

Whatever, guess they don't want my business!

Update, called another shop, guy tells me sure, same as the 1993-1997 RX7 YEAH!

But guess what, no STEELIES! only Alloys, seems like it will be VERY VERY difficult to find steels for that size / bolt pattern.

I believe Mazda has said that 17" wheels will fit over the brakes, and that this was done specifically because steel wheels and winter tires are more readily available in 17". Not a big issue here in Texas. :D

Actually steels aren't available! Found out there is one manufacturer that is looking into trying to fit steels for the car, but is still "testing".

We'll find out in sept, but for now it looks like it might have to be 17" alloys for the winter.
