Since someone else bumped it, I may as well add an update. I did end up buying the Tein Street Basis Coilovers. Ride is pretty comparable to OEM, but a bit lower. I had no problems with the way the car handled before, so I'm pretty happy with them. My car is street driven only.
Do we have an official "post your coilovers/pics" thread? I'm specifically interested in comparing how low certain sets can go within my price range and weigh the pros and cons from there. I know powertrix is probably the best way to go but I'd still like a more comprehensive view of the capabilities of all the different sets out there.
edit: maybe not powertrix either, just read about the bushings. that's a shame.
anyways do we have a comprehensive coils/height/experiences thread? i have searched and not quite found what I'm looking for.
How low do you want to go and why? Once you have dropped more than about 1.25", handling begins to suffer. Trading one of the best aspects for the car for a slammed look makes absolutely no sense to me.
Anyway, the car in my signature is lowered about 1.12" on Bilstein PSS9s.

Powertrix are crap. Anything under $1500 is crap actually. They all go low, I have Stance (sam exact as powertrix) and even with upgraded Swift springs they suck and the bushings fail every 2000 miles (see Stance/Powertix thread). PSS9's will go on soon.
yeah i've seen the aftermath. I'm not sure what the theory is on the composite materials used, because even on first glance it doesn't look like that material will hold up for crap. i've seen that style of bushing fail time and time again. Lower mounts, UCA's, etc.

I did the same thing and im pretty happy with my drop. I think with the betters tires and the stiffer suspension the car drivers alot better
The aggressive wheel fitment thread is many pages long as well.
i have googled and advanced searched just about every relevant tag on this site, and been through every page of the agressive wheel fitment thread among others. again, consolidation is the key word.
not only that, but if we were to create a thread with the intended purpose of A)posting pictures b)posting setups and c)sharing drive-ability reviews/opinions/experiences, it would help out a lot of people. plus it would just be a fun thread to have around.
This forum needs more daily active threads anyways. more traffic helps the site, so it would be a win/win. just a suggestion for an interesting and useful thread *shrugs

looks nice, man!! let me know what they look like when you remove them for inspection. curious to see how they've physically held up after a year. particularly the shock housings themselves and the lower mount bushings.
i am rollin on Megan EZ's and i have absolutely no complaints.... my car is 100% daily driver, the hardest thing i do is play on the back roads on the weekends... i have the valving set in the middle range, and it rides better than when i had eibachs and Koni's.... the coilovers look to be nice quality and the ride height can be adjusted as low as you wanna go... but like I said, my car is the grocery getter, so if you plan to abuse it, I would be more inclined to pay the money for something better... but for the everyday I LOVE THEM!!!!
the pics are with 25mm spacers, and the camera is quite old... the car can go probably another 1.5in lower... this is my speed bump height

Thanks man i just bought myself the same coilover ez meagan coilover i wish there is a "thread" on How hard or easy to get access to the rear damper adjustment to make adjustment...
Adjusting the dampening is very simple. There are tiny little ***** that are poking out of right above where they bolt in to the strut towers.. for the rears you will have to do some exploring with your trunk liner panels.. turn them left or right accordingly. Also dont quote photos like that...
Tein Basis or Basics? Two different ones. But yeah the Megans are absolute crap, the Teins are entry level (both the Basis and Basics) but they are at least from a reputable company who makes their own product.

Tein is just a name brand. I had Megan on my STI, Supra, and now my RX-8 and the ride is so much more better. My friends had Tein on there RX-8 and the ride was worse. Plus if you want to slam your car all the way megan is the way to go. You can go a lot more farther than Tein. Just saying.
