So I'm thinking of getting the Enkei GTC01 Wheels...

Sup guys. I am starting my search for new rims/tires for next spring as I plan to use the stock rims for winter tire use. I might order them sooner than later if I get a good enough deal.

Anyway, got a couple of questions on the Enkei GTC01 wheels. First off, on the Enkei site, it says Hyper Black, but everywhere I look, I find Hyper silver, and honestly cant tell a huge color difference. Is there a difference?

Second off, I will get getting these in 18". What exact size/offset would you recommend?

And lastly, more of an opinion question, how do you think they would look on a Galaxy Gray RX-8 (mine is pictured)?

Thanks as always guys!

They are hyper black, or black chrome, Whichever name you want to use. I have a set of GTC01's for my 07 Velocity red and I love them and I get complement every time I go to the track (I have track tires on them so I only use them at the track). I have the 18X8.5 with a 30 offset (I believe, maybe 35) With 245/40/18's they appear very wide and they barly fit, I have had a little rubbing but I am lowered 1.2". If you want to use a tire wider then a 245, then you will want a 35+ offset. Check with Endless Rotories for what sizes fit and for a great price on Enkei Wheels.

The GTC01 is a nice looking wheel and I think hyper black looks good on almost every color.

I have the GTC01 but I have them with offset +40 18x8. I get compliments everywhere I go. I have also a 07 VR.

I wish they looked a tad more brighter, more closer to silver... do the pictures not really do em justice in terms of that?

Only reason I ask is I generally go from the chromed look but these wheels just popped out at me for being so light yet stylish that I had to consider em!

The pictures are an accurate representation. If you want a color closure to silver then these wont be for you but I think they are a very nice wheel and the hyper black is a nice color.

It is all preference. I dont like bright "BLING" wheels, I prefer subtle things, people will see a difference, like it, but not even notice what it is they like until they take a second or third look. But thats just me.

Why oh why did I have to learn about wheel weight? This would be so much easier if weight wasnt an issue, haha.

I'm looking at Enkei GTC01's, Enkei SC05's and now I'm attracted to WORK Varianza T1S's. Someone kill me!

Well if you dont like the hyper black then have them painted chrome. Thats all chrome is these days anyways, paint, but I think you might like the hyper black more then you think.

I saw some nice used GTC-01 wheels for sale on craigslist.
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/pts/820360357.html

very good condition, 18X8X48 with Toyo Proxes T1-R tires with about 5k miles on them. The tires are 235/40/18 which is a little small but wold work? Selling for $1350 which is a good deal with the tires. maybe he could take the tires off and ship for $1250???

Will that become an issue at all that the tires are a tad smaller? I already contacted him about purchasing them if he will ship. I mean, obviously they fit but will I see any issues with that?

no issues, but they will be sucken in like stock. if that's the way you choose to go its fine. you won't see too much of a difference due to tire size except having your speedometer read 1-3 mph higher than actual speed. the diameter difference is 1/2 an inch.

Last question as I have just told him their sold to me, haha. The slight slight curb rash on one wheel is there, hard to see, but its there, and I am super **** about this kinda stuff. Is that easily repairable at a wheel repair type place or anything?

Whats the stock offset? Are they gonna stick out (or lack thereof) similar to the stock wheels/tires? Thanks!

Yeah Im nervous/excited about seeing em on the car in person. My safe bet woulda been a silver/chrome color but I love the look and weight of these rims.

I saw some pics on Google Images that made me like em more.

I wish I can get a lower offset but 48 is closest to stock without messing the ratio too much...

Do an angle shot man....

How much did you lowered your car? My friend told me that if I have a smaller offset I may rub something at the back if I lower it...no idea?

I have the HKS Hipermax 3 and left the car to the lowering that HKS came. I thing it is 3 cm in front and 2.5 cm in the rear. In Greece the roads are in very bad condition but with offset and lowering it does not rub at all.
